ok i am in the process of making a custom intake. i got my confilter and maf adapter and i did a batter relocation. so i was gonn make a custom short ram intake like this picture below.
problem is all the damn vacuum lines.
like 5 of them

1. aiv breather. first of all everyone says i can remove my aiv... but thats a diff. q?.. for now i just capped it off.

2. oil breather- i will put abreather on the nipple connected to valve cover, and not even make a nipple on the new intake

3&4. two other vacuum hoses i was told are essential. i'm gettign a welding shop to add two nipple to the intake.

5. theres a huge vacuum line connected to what seems to be a part of the rdiator or some sorta box connected to something down by the radiator fan area.. what do i do with that.. t

thanx for the help.. peace

I'm thinking of doing the same thing but w/ out the battery relocation. I'm running just electric fans right now and took off the radiator shroud so there's plenty of room. As for the vacuum lines, you could just drill a hole in the pipe and get vacuum line thingies, like a tee but strait. Cant think of the name right now, brain farts stink. Just put a rubber grommet in the hole and stick the "thingie" in the grommet and use some clear silicone to hold it in place. And the lines, on my s14 I found that the larger hose has to be hooked up, or you'll stall out. One goes to a canister on the drivers side and the third one I think just goes to the t/b. Hope this help some, I know I'm probably missing something. Good luck w/ the project.

hey btw.. thanks for the help everyone :sarcasticLook:... J/J.. no but really i figured out what it was. something to do with filtering harmful fumes into the intake instead of the atmosphere.. reguardless i dont need the extra nipple for it on my car and i'm just gonna out a breather on the actual box...

but i gotta another q? botu the whole aiv thing... what do peopel do when they go turbo in their s13's that this is totally in the way. i pulled the box off and just plugged it off witha breather. but what about the actual aiv unit. i dont car bout it. it wont hurt performance, or so i was told. it merely lets o2 into my cat .. right?
what to do?
thanx
