Is it possible to hardwire an sr20det tranny speedsensor (GREEN AND BLACK WIRE) to the back of dohc cluster? I believe the green wire goes to the yellow/green wire and the black wire goes to the yellow black on the cluster? pin 6 and and 12?http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f49/kevmeistah21/untitled.jpg

very possible.I rigged mine up the exact way.just make sure you install them right with solder and heatwrap.

ok if anyone that wants to hardwire your speed sensor straight to the back of you cluster this works and it's pretty accurate! very simple also.

Is it possible to get a picture or two of exactly what you did? I've got a jdm cluster, no idea if its dohc or sohc but the speedometer doesn't work. Might give this a try, make sure I've got it understood barney style before I go mess something up. Not sure how to tell if its the gauge or the speedsenor though. :ugh:

if i were to do this to a digital cluster what wires would i use?

JDM S13's never had SOHC KA's, only USDM. If you have a JDM cluster and a JDM speed sensor from the same-era car (S13 for S13 cluster, S14 for S14 cluster), it'll work.
Also, the black is a ground, the yellow/green is the signal wire - as long as you ground it to the same ground as the cluster grounds to, you should have an accurate reading.

USE BOTH OF THESE IMAGES WITH THE FIRST IMAGE ON MY ORIGINAL POST

as long as your speed sensor suited to same cluster then it will work.
or you can get a rectifier or resistor and do it
