^^^ Im with him....
I had a 6 puck unsprung with a Nismo Flywheel in my old S14 in the states. That shit was a bitch driving in Frisko, while in traffic.
Now I got an Os Giken TS2BD twin plate...only clutch ill swap it for would be a 3-plate clutch when/if I go RB25 tranny. :D

TS2BD I got is on its 2nd rebuild kit. The guy who had it bought it used and rebuilt it back in 2003. I bought the car from him in 07 and the clutch started slipping when I upgraded the turbo from a T518Z to a GT3071R. I bought a fresh rebuild kit for it (new clutch disk, intermediate plate, pressure plate and bolts), took the cage off and got the flywheel resurfaced. So basically 2 rebuild kits later, the clutch is still good. Now im just worried of blowing trannies since SR trannies are made of glass, having over 400hp doesnt help either.

How long did yours last or how long has it been since the rebuild? just so i can get an estimate on when i should look in to buying another rebuild kit.

This is interesting to see.. I have a OS Giken STR Twin Plate in the S14SR and the Evo9MR.
Oddly none of the Evo guys run Giken!!?!!
I must say Twin Plate is a must over 400hp... thats at the fly... not the wheels.
Daily Driving isn't bad but Stop and Go is murder... you will also learn to use a clutch corectly if you go un-sprung.
Not to complicate matters but every D1 driver is sponsored by ORC (ogura) but runs an OS Giken... ORC is big and makes good street production clutches, but fails at race compounds... so its just advertising space for them... and one less competitor for OS Giken.

Well like I said, the guy who owned the car prior to me did a full rebuild back in 03. Thats when he did the clutch. 4 yrs of him driving like a bat out of hell, dragging on Mizugama, it lasted 4 yrs. Even then it was still good until I upgraded to a bigger turbo. It was fine with the old Greddy T518Z turbo...
As far as Ogura, I wasnt too impressed. I had a single plate 409 and that shit was slipping on my car worst than my shredded twins before I rebuilt them. Basically, I got the 409 to replace the TS2BD, slapped it on, it sucked. Thing had a lot of life on it (about a year old before the car got parted out). Sold the 409 and got enough money to get the rebuild parts for the TS2BD ($600 roughly).

yah even my super single os giken clutch was sexy..
just going to upgrade and was seeing the input on giken

Single plates should actually be in the 900 range if you do a lot of searching.
if you have the cash def get the Os Giken, they are the best clutches.
I bought my Blitz twin plate(also made by OS Giken) for $1000.
Having a twin plate is only worth it if you are really putting down near or above 400hp, less than 350 a six puck is all you need.
like others stated stop and go is a hassle even when you get used to it, it's not that it gets easier, it's just that5 you get used to putting up with it .haha
but when you drop the clutch you know all the power is going to the wheels..
before the blitz I had a Spec stage 3+ supposedly should handle 450 hp, after installing the 2871r and boosting 20psi it basically destroyed the clutch in less than 3 months..lol

Just to add to the thread... Its all about TQ and not HP that you rate a clutch... And yes twin plates are awesome, but I have had a RPS Max Turbo Street Clutch for the last 3 years putting down 300 ftlb of tq at 4800 rpm.... No slip or anything... I do a lot of track days and it goes well... I have heard good and bad stories, so I am torn, but I think I will try another after this one goes out.

Any twin disk is gunna eat SR trannys unless you drive it on the street like a wuss.
Twin disc = Z32 tranny
I have a spec stage 3 in my 2817r powered SR now probably 420+hp. It holds it however you cant do clutch kicks or shift lock in it drifting.
Just picked up a Blitz supersingle for 900$ You can convert them to twin discs if you get the Z32 tranny otherwise you'll just be blowing up trannys left and right with a twin disc.
This is in a strict drift car no street driving.

65050 Nissan - Silvia - PS13,S14 - SR20DET - Single Plate US $ 846.20
Blitz - Active Clutch - Nengun Performance (http://www.nengun.com/blitz/active-clutch)
Nengum performance, even cheaper than i thought..!!
I bought mine new from a guy on here he had it for a while but never installed, he had lost the release bearing though it cost me like 20 bucks.
anyways this one i posted above is the same, and you can upgrade to twin disc if you want for a few hundred more later when u need it!

Do not and I mean DO NOT get an unsprung 6 puck...its touchy as hell and your left leg will be getting alot of work out.

i want to add another pos rep for rps max series clutches. they run exedy discs and i've been pounding on mine for over 4 years now. i run a full face disk so streetability is a non issue, on a car making 300rwhp. i've replaced the disk once about 6 months ago and haven't looked back. car sees plenty of track days to. 450tq holding with the full face and 550 with the 6 puck. phase2 has them listed for 385. pressure plates come with a lifetime warranty to.

So ORC 409 is kinda sucky?
I have one laying around that I was going to rebuild.
I don't want to spend the time & money and have a clutch that I can't whomp on some.

It smooths out the clutch a bit. I didn't like driving my ACT unsprung 6 puck at all. You had to be super aggressive starting off on hills(I have a 10.5 lb TODA flywheel), and generally it felt like you're beating on the trans to drive it smooth in normal driving.

I couldn't tell you, but I have an OS Supersingle. Before I upgraded my turbo, I was pushing 270 whp and 250 lbs/ft of torque. It's been running like that with me beating up on it for over a year and I've never had slipping. Even with the upgraded turbo, I should be pushing closer to 300 whp, I still don't have any slippage.

for the OS Single is just about 300,hp its just a stronger clutch but not high performance, tll last a long time though.
the twin is about 500hp
