My friend just recently got an 1989 240sx and has been having problems with it recently. The car tends to stutter when she hits the gas and it sounds like it has an exhaust leak but the sound is coming from the intake manifold side of the engine bay (atleast we think so). So this is what she has gotten replaced in her motor; injector assy, rubr insul injc, sel o-ring, cable set, spark plugs and valv egr contrl. But the car is still stuttering off the line just slightly though. My question is, could it be the exhaust leak that is causing this? Or could it be something else that could cost a little more than a tune up? By the way she has an automatic.

would the MAF have to be regrounded or should it be replaced? Will a 93 ka24de maf work? I'd like to see if mine could be swapped in to see if it really is the MAF that is causing the problem.

The DOHC mafs won't work. The sohc's share the same mafs as sr's.
