Alright i was in the market for a s14, but everything was overpriced so i decided to buy a 5spd zenki with 120k for 4.5....with plans of kouki conversion <br>
now recently i found a kouki 98 BONE Stock with 2 owners...with here it comes only 46k MILES!!!! only cons are that body has dings, dents, lots of swirls, auto, sunroof, but nothing major,,,,,,at only 6,500
What would u guys do??? .....
I am a college student and i plan to have a kouki....so im def going to sell one or the other...

you aren't gonna get 100 for a auto kouki this isint a worthwhile car its a throw away car that's why price has dropped not raised

Why would you sell a fully stock, all original Kouki S14 for profit when there's 95% chance you'll never see one with that low mileage ever again?
Sounds like a stupid idea if you ask me.

Just because it's auto doesn't mean the price significantly HAS to come down.
Shit, I'm glad both of my low-mileage S-chassis have been auto.

true, but the body is not in the best shape as compared to my zenki....
also it has sunroof and its auto.....and i prefer white kouki's hence my reallly good zenki.... but i know how rare these koukis are so im still debating which to sell and let go,,,either ways its profit for me...
and ive got the money for both cars........
oh yeah the black kouki also has no abs =]

If the body isn't in the best shape, your plans for profit are down the drain.
Body work isn't cheap. So, just because it's low mileage doesn't mean it's worth $10k.

Eh, bought my '92 S13 with 40k miles two years ago.(Ongoing project/whore of a car).
New daily driver, '90 S13 with 62k miles.
Trust me, just because it has low mileage doesn't make it worth all that much more.
If you plan on buying it just to make a profit, save yourself the trouble and let someone who will actually appreciate(and keep) the car get it.

I think the real question here is what do you have the money for? If your goal is to have a kouki, then I would say get it and then compare the chassis, interior, engine, etc. between the two cars as well as the damage to the kouki that is NOT the front end. If the zenki wins that (in terms of work and $$$) then swap the front from the kouki to the zenki, and put the old zenki front on the Kouki (I know, an abomination, but you cant sell a car w/o a front if you want to get some fair money from it)
However, as a college student you need to consider cost and time for swapping as well as the car. Can you afford to float the funds for two cars as well as the 1.5-2K for a good paint job and all the body work that needs to be done?
Personally, I would suggest having a kouki vs. swapping a kouki front onto a zenki b/c the swap is so detailed. (Doing it right requires so many little supporting parts) However having an entire car is a great way to get around that difficulty.
So: Money, Time, Skill, Dedication (are you really looking to wait 3-6mos for the car you actually want assuming you have ready money for all the stuff and only have to work on it?) Do you have enough of those four to make this purchase sensibly?
(I am not saying you dont, but you need to decide about that.)
Oh, and dont shaft a fellow auto enthusiast trying to make a quick buck; either buy the car or give her the number, marking it up is a rather bitch move IMO

well i could of bought a kouki when i was in the market for one, but they all had high mileage anyways or were overpriced to shits, so i thought might as well get a zenki with really clean chassis and conver that ...
but then when i was just trolling around on classifields i found a bone stock kouki local.with PRIMARY reason why im interested is the 45k miles with 2 adult owners who i know NEVER abused the car other then not cleaning it right/maintence wise...but the motor is still prob in tip top shape....
im still interested in what zilvia has to say... i might just pick this car up tomorrow and clean it up to sell it later once fast and furious 4 comes out

oh yeah btw, when i was test driving the car... when i pushed on the O/D while driving it never turned on...he told me i had to put it in park and then press O/D to make it work and vice versa to turn off. Is this normal on the s14 autos??? (sorry i drive a stick)

YO so you're biggest concern is the cosmetics of the car? If that's the case you're going all wrong with this. First of all, you got a car, a great car, so keep it. Second, you're a college kid, so you're not gonna have too much money to spend on your car since most of your money is going to school (unless you're parents are ballin and you don't have to pay rent or you're going to a community college with no plans on transfering to a university). I suggest that you keep your zenki, learn how to drive it, stay in school and then when you're graduate, then you can get your kouki, hell get all the koukis you want after that

to the OP: do you see the prices of sports cars / modified cars in this market?
there are SR'd fully built koukis going for around what you want to pay for a stock auto.
friend of mine cant even get 6k for a 400+whp rb car. but good luck getting 10k for a stock kouki

i think imma just keep my zenki.... i really cant invest in a car right now....
there was some rust...but its been in CA all its life.
it hasnt been abused but def not treated like it should be, someone pick this up so i can admire the original low mile chassis or u can sell me the motor if u plan to go sr20

Jeez! someone from my area was selling an s13, rusted through, blown sr20det with a salvage title for $9,000.
I got my s14, heavy underbody rust- auto, napa exhaust, an assortment of issues- 92k miles without an oil, diff, tranny, coolant change.....$4,500
It was between that and a black 97, bent frame, extensive carfax history- $13,000... stock with 140k miles.
Most riced out s13's with a rattlecan primer, seized engines rusted in half still go for around $5k here. You would think in the northern midwest these rust buckets would be going for pennys on the $$$.

in cali, your kouki would go for 6,000 because of the frame and state budget, your s13 would go for 1,700. i advise you to ship a car. my friend imported his kouki ae86 from northern seattle to southern california (san diego but basically mexico haha) for a decent price.
besides, zenki can look just as great as a kouki. hella dumped, oem hid retrofit from a bmw or s2000, clear glass, euro head lights, and nice rims. it'll look like a happy turtle
