For $30 you could have bought a cheap ebay intake kit or something... or a new fuel filter or some wiper blades.. or fixed an oil leak if you have one...

To each his own, but IMHO, you just wasted your cash. Hope you didn't work too hard for it.

good thing it's HIS cash

most of us replace fuel filters and wipers when needed, not when we have a few bucks lying around, it's called maintanence.

BTW: $30 intake = POS, @ least he put some effort in.

Let's see some pics........

Wow, white door panels, I probably only took about 10 mins to spray a side, just about as long as it takes to cook Uncle Bens... "Rice". But to each his own, I just don't think that you will like it when that white turns black from dirt.

I had a post about how much sixbanger needs to go to hell, but what the ****. Screw him. Heres the layout:

simounj, if you want some real deal quality, Get a couple of cans of whats called Bulldog, a spray paint adhesive agents. Its a spray on chemicle which will ensure that paint wont chip or crack or peel. Bet me money, my friend sprayed a chrome bumper with Bulldog, then sprayed her red. That shizzle has been tapped twice and has yet to crack, unless the underlaying chrome cracked.

Taking out the dash isnt the way to go, take it from me. If your bent on spraying get two or three rolls of 3 or 4 inch tape, and tape everything that is not being sprayed. Get the palstic covers from home depot to cover the interior, cause spray off is a bitch. Cover it all, and spray that biatch. Remeber, im not sure if you sanded, but you dont have too.

You do not have to sand color away from plastic.

Prespray:

1.Clean/Degrease
This is to ensure all that soda you spilled is cleaned away to allow a clean and tacky surface ready for spraying.
2.300 Grit sanding
This will remove any little nubs in the plastics. These things happen, but will leave the finish product looking speckled if their not sanded away.
3.Lite wipe with damn rag/sponge
You just sanded, what the hell are you thinking?

Coloring:

Spray
Dry
300 Grit sanding
On the back of your can it will say to hold the can about 12 inches away, their right. If you get too close you'll bubble and drip, dont be affraid if the first coat looks way light, its suppose to be.
Repeat atleast twice.

Clear Coat:

Clear
Dry
300 Grit sanding
Same deal as spraying
Repeat atleast twice.

If you wish to use bulldog, use this

Spray [bulldog]
Spray [Paint]
Dry
300 Grit Sanding

by the way, white is a very bad color choise, youll see

Weirdstyles, thanks, i did use that Bulldog stuff, and to the people who are saying my door panels are now "rice", just because i want to try something different than what you guys think is nice, doesn't mean you gotta flame me and say stuff.... i thought this was a forum to help people out, i guess not.... just a forum to flame people and tell them how bad their car looks, oh yea, by the way, my door panels look good, if i had a digi cam i would take pics, but i dont, so yea..

240silvia, the plastic parts of the panel are blue, the vinyl piece is white

simounj, its a bad Idea to have a low post count and start to flame back. Just let it go, I think some were more against the color (i am not for white, but to each their own). If they dont like it, then they shouldnt color their door panels. I plan on sprayin my **** after

Suspension and brakes. My shocks are shot, and my brakes are broke. Not safe.

But are you from NJ? It would be badass to meet up, Ill show you some ****.

Umm excuse me? Yes, I should go to hell because.... well, I can't really think of a good reason. Now, if you would be so kind, please explain your logic. I think I stated twice that what I said was pure opinion. Some people just don't get it.

Listen to the man, whevever I was a Newbie, I got ragged also because I thought I had the JDM 97 Headlights and I didn't. Some stuff you just have to let go. Also, DON'T post unless you are willing to hear people's opinions. I learned that the hard way. And you are getting mad at the ppl who have posted, trust me, we are the nice ones, other guys on here who are hardcore JDM, would flip if they saw the "painted door panels". Just absorb this information and think about it the next time you post.

Its not about your opinion, its about how you convey your message, its bull****. I dont like it, would suffice. But pushin your bull**** on other people is just a waste of other peoples time, especially mine.

If there are links in the Zilvia link section about body kits and exterior/interior show goodies, then this is an appropriate place to speak about painting your door panels.

if you sprayed the dash white would the glare from the window kill you?..

try placing some white paper on the dash.. it makes it really hard to see outside.

BUT white dash does look nice... a little ricey only cuz rice is white =) hahah i wanted to spray mine a darker black .. but never got around to it.

ahhh... i see. its possible but you have to take out allot of stuff its going to take you all day.. and you are prolly gonna break something while you are trying to take that thing off.. cant you use some sealant to patch it up and then use some bondo like stuff and cover it?

Where are the pictures?

I read all of this bull**** drama, and there are no pictures? :D

Personally, I think things can be painted like that and not be rice. There's an S13 on cardomain.com that has the interior pieces painted green on one part and blue on the other ... that's rice. I think a white interior can be tasteful.

simounj, you'll come to understand that most people on this board prefer to keep their cars mostly stock in looks, and prefer go to show. Pretty much everyone goes through a hashing when they first join the boards, I know I did (cant remember what for...) Read more post less.
