just needed to know if anyone had to discharge their AC system to do the digital climate control swap. i looked the the 'how to' and it didn't look like it was necessary to undo the lines to drop the big black box that the evaporator valve/core live but figured i'd ask. thx

ive never done it myself but a digital climate control installation shouldnt require you to remove it, just swap out sensors ect..

yeah, i can see that the process of doing the swap is pretty straight forward but was just wondering if anyone had to drop the black box to do it - sort of like those people who ask if the dash had to be removed to do the DCC.

It's just a rewire job and adding/replacing some sensors. It's all electrical, you should not need to touch the mechanical side of the HVAC system.

You don't touch the evaporator besides cutting a hole in the case to mount the blower resistor.
