What is the difference between a '90 S13 and a '91. Not sure if it's an SE or base either, so tell me the differences between those also. As much info as you can all give me is greatly appreciated. Thanks

---S13: coupes and fastbacks 1989-1994---
1989-90 SOHC, less power, boxier front end
1991-93 DOHC, more power, rounder front end
1994 is an automatic convertible
www.socal240sx.org has specific differences between trims and model years under "FAQ".
www.carpoint.com also has comparisons in specifications and engine info, but occasionally i question its accuracy.
as for pics, just look in www.ebaymotors.com, www.autotrader.com or google or something

the main diferences between the 89-90 and the 91-93 is the front end, and a dif engine, the 89-90 have a Single cam engein that makes 15 less horsepower than the 91-93 dual cam engines. its not much dif, because they both make the same torque. its also a little more dificult if you are planning a sr20det swap because the 89-90 came with a dif engine in japan, just like they did here in the states, they cam equipped with a ca18de(t). so you have to move some power steering lines.

Actually, the DOHC is also rated at an extra 10 lb-ft at peak. But the torque is more or less equal until about 3500rpm.

Knightrider's car looks exactly like mine, my bumper is a duller color than the rest of the body to. if you can get a good deal on the 90 do it, especially if its a coupe. I think the 89-90 front looks better than later version on the 240sx coupe

The 90 i found is for 1200 near here. I haven't gone to see it yet, but from the pics it looks pretty nice. I would most definitely be doing the sr20 swap. There's a 91 LE here too that is a good price too. Maybe I should just spring and buy it :D
Are there any suspension differences between base model and SE/LE? Thanks again

In an S13... not reaaaally
In '89-'90 there was no "SE/LE", there was base and sport package. The '89-'90 sport package had 10% stiffer springs and the sway bars were a mm or two larger than the base. The sport package was the '89-'90 with factory alloys and front lip.
In '91-'93 the base/SE/LE all had the same suspension, unless ordered with HICAS. the HICAS car had again 10% stiffer springs, plus really big swaybars, and the HICAS fun stuff.
The factory S13 spring rates are all listed in the Archive/FAQ section "spring rate archive".

Actually, that's not true. The 89-90 came in XE: base and SE: sport :)

My friend has an 89 240sx se (rear wiper and cruise control) and I have the base.
We both have hatchbacks by the way.
Anyway, when I checked his engine, he has two knobs to rev up the engine. One is I guess for normal gas application, and the other is for harder driving.
Did anyone see this and why my car (1990 base) only has one knob in the engine to rev up the car?
Is the reason cause in 89 they had 2 or is the reason cause he has the SE?

are you talking about the throttle cable linkage???
your friend probably has 2 pully's on his car b/c he probably has cruise control. Cruise has it's own throttle cable.
