Hey I've been looking for some Ka pulleys and I haven't been able to find any. Where are they At?! I want the Unorthodox underdrive pulley set but they're only being made for the SR. Do the Sr pulleys fit for can you drill holes in the to make em fit. ALso, Does the SOHC crank pully fit the DOHC KA?

i have an ASP pulley. it's still in the box so i can't comment on it other than it's shiney.
the name of the company eludes me at the moment, but there's a company that makes high performance damped crank pulleys. they had a group buy on them at KA-t.org and i think they sell them now as regular stock. they're pretty expensive though $400+, i think.

I don't really see pulleys as being a wise purchase for the very low performance gain they give you, especially on a NA-KA. Any specific reason why you are looking for them?

Thanks, I found a bunch on Ka-t.org, If anyone else is looking for them definetely go there.
I'm getting a lightweight flywheel, driveshaft, and figured I might as well balance them with a lighter crank pulley

no OBX is not damped and I've heard a lot of craftmanship issues with OBX's crank pulley. It seems they Crack after a while. I would buy their accessory pulleys though cause you can't get them anywhere else.
I just bought an Unorthodox Underdrive CP, I'll let everyone know how it feels when I install it.

Wow. Great information guys.
/sarcasm.
ATI Crank Dampeners are amazing. Pricey, but amazing.
OBX cranks have shitty timing guides marks and you really just have to time by ear. they are a bit more fragile than a few others i've come across.
I had a CosmoRacing crank pulley, and I've gotta say, for the price, it was amazing. The scores were nice and uniform, balanced.
KA/SR's are internally balanced, so whatever you hear about BS harmonics and the crank, throw it out the window.
Be sure to keep the crank pulley guide in place and cross your fingers to not dislodge it accidentally when installing it. Its a PITA to get back in place AND install the pulley.

Actually, they do free up a noticeable amount of power that is lost due to parasitic weight rotation. The lightened weight allows for easier movements and less effort to rotate. Loss of weight to the crank = regaining lost power caused by weight.
Did I mention rotating? Okay.

Well I recieved and installed the Unorthodox Underdrive pulley a couple days ago. The install was a breeze I ended up replacing the main oil seal while I was in there.
My first impressions of the pulley are so-so. I mean you can definetely feel the difference in powerrightoff the bat but I hear ittakes a couple of days for the ecu to realized the loss of weight. I'll let you know if it's true or not

Sooshi, You made it seem like Cosmo is the way to go. 65 bucks with tax, maybe 70 with shipping, as compared to the mid 300s for the ATI haha.

KA's aren't fully balanced. IIRC, they have a "half-balanced" crankshaft.

The higher the RPM, the higher the power difference!
Im curious though, any real world numbers and dyno sheets?

The ECU has no idea you've removed weight from the crank. That's quite probably the stupidest remark I've ever seen on this forum.

You're not really 'gaining' HP/TQ, just freeing up. I think a lot of people have played GranTurismo too often and think every part increases HP/TQ.

Freeing up=gaining.
It's not like you measure hp without pulleys on.

Unless you bottom end is fully balanced, I wouldn't run anything but the stock or the Super Damper (what company is that?). IF you go with OBX, just use the accessory pullies.

Anyone know what belts to use with OBX pulleys?
