Ok, i need to know what type of oil restrictor i will need for a gt2871r,
i have looked and searched but alot of people are beating around the bush when it comes to exact parts..
I'm going to use a .035 size oil for a gt2871r. on a -4 oil feed line.
it seems really really small... should i go with the .060?
thanx,
Chris

Its whatever taka sells.... You can check with ATP turbo... I use .035 from ATP. More oil = more pressure on the turbo seals = blown turbo.... It doesn't do anything except lube....

If you use stock lines there is already a restrictor in the stock metal lines, otherwise only very early taka lines had the built in restrictor.... You can run one just in cause you don't have it cause 2 restrictors doesn't hurt anything, but 0 hurts the poor little turbo a lot...
But yes any GT's... .035

AN -3 Feed
AN -3 Feed
Too big with no restrictor...
0.030-0.040" restrictor size works fine with GT series turbos.

So long as the return is of appropriate size - the -3 is just fine
Yes you can have too much oil, but thats if the return is not large enough.

Garrett thinks that size is far too large. By about 1000%(or 10x) compared to the recommended 0.030" orifice diameter.
They know more about the requirements of their turbos than anybody on this board, so pick a size at least close to this diameter.

They will also tell you that the new GT Series turbos don't require blow off valves.

BS.
Check out their tech articles, they clearly advocate the use of a BOV, as they should.
You're giving out shit info this in this thread... :nono:
