HELP! I purchased this header:

And found my second CAT to be hollow. The o2 sensor didn't bolt in, so I left it out, but having an adapter made. She runs rich... turned the header purple. Anyone know what to do in this situation?

Thanks.

Which o2 sensor are you talking about?

The second one won't make it run rich, if it's the first one, then that's your problem.

The second cat is hollow on all S14s, welcome to Earth. The cat is located in the downpipe, which you've now deleted.
The secondary O2 sensor is for OBD-II purposes only to monitor car function, the 95-96s use the smaller 17mm head sensor. You can just as easily plug it with a pipe fitting or an old used sensor since the cat is gone now, the sensor will be useless. To properly pass you need to move the cat to the resonator location and place the sensor in the back of the unit. A Random or Catco model works fine. Old, old news, we've discussed this since 1995.
As for it running rich, the primary sensor, if damaged, would go into open loop, but not enough to make it run that poorly. You have another underlying issue.

Sport Compact Car did an article in 1997, using a HotShot header. To keep the CEL clean you have to install a cat behind the header and weld a bung in the backside to fit the O2 sensor. The harness is long enough to reach if you unclip it from the transmission. If you're not worried about passing inspection, plug the hole and go. The sensor is only used to monitor catalyst function, it does not affect driveability.
