AmsOil 10w-30... AmsOil is the CHIT
My roommates 02' RSX would quart of oil b/w oil changes when he was in vtec a lot.
Since he put in amsoil 2 changes ago, he no longer burns ANY oil, and he recently did a track event with me a few weeks ago.
And my parents had to have the head gasket replaced in thier van a while back. They had been running amsoil in it for probably 2 years before.. mechanic said the engine looked new..
I've used it for a long time myself. I have never had a car that burned oil, and I've never owned a car that wasn't at LEAST 8 years old.
from what I've read AmsOil, Redline, Royal Purple, and Mobil 1 are the best oil you can buy. I use amsoil filters too. multiple independent test say they are the best.. but for $14 it better be.

Yoshi. You should really use a straight 30 weight for break-ins. Also, on a fresh rebuilt motor, you shouldn't need 20w50 unless you live somewhere extremely cold.
Anyway... off the pulpit. I will use Havoline 30 weight for the break-in, and then Mobil 10w30 (mabey even 5w30, but I live in FL, so :D) afterwards.

I use Mobil 1 5w30 synthetic in the fall/winter & Mobil 1 10w30 synthetic in spring/summer. I always use a Nissan OEM filter

Since I bought the car very used, I have used synthetic blends since I got it, castrol syntec 10 w 30... I plan to change to mobil 1 full synthetic my next oil change... The only reason I haven't done it to this point is because I buy stuff for like 5 oil changes in advance when I go shopping, filters and all. I use K&N filters

doh.. for some reason, I thought heavier weight oils were good for cars when it was warm outside, and you wanted to use lighter weight oils when its cold? please educate me.. :|

I don't exactly get motor oil. 20w50 is a 20 weight oil that will not thin more than a 50 weight at 100*C.
The hotter the oil gets, the thinner it gets. Somehow sythetics can make a 5w thin as much as a 30w?
Anyway.. you're right about the whole hot v. cold thing. I was really tired at 3:30am typing that, and got the backwards.
Also.. I still used 10w30 in my car before death, and will probably get a lower weight oil after the break-in (assuming the rings seat well, and I have good compression) to free up horsepower.

well my KA is on Halvoline 10w30 still
when I got my SR 240 bck from Car Tune, I was told by several people there that I should be using 20w50, they were very specific about it, so that's what I've been using :/
