Hey guys, can anyone diagnose if this turbo is on it's way.

Details:
Ran perfect as of two days ago , rather suddenly occured.
Going to breakdown tomorrow.

Sounds like a large boost leak in the vid. If it sounds like metal death in real life than it may be the turbo. At least thats what my t25 sounded like.




Edit: Watched it a couple more times, in 3rd it sounds like shit.

My turbo sounded just like this and It was because 3 out of 4 of the studs snapped that held it to the manifold. My thought was that the gasket was acting as a whistle? Do you have a exhasut leak at idle.

Yea thats what i thought mine was....It has happened before and im sure to a lot of sr owners.

I set up a SMIC the other day, alot of pressure on the system and no give.

that sound is the whirling that is caused when you have an exhaust leak between your exhaust manifold and turbo. check to make sure everything is tight and your gasket is not blown out. odds are that is it.

i had a whistling noise yesterday, sounded like a phazer gun or something, but now i can't rev over 4 k without boost hesitation... weird. what does metal death sound like on the turbo

I recently blew my turbo, GT28RS, sounded like a whine (siren/supercharger). Check your turbo for shaft play, if you can move it in, out, up and down... then its shot. I've only used this car for 3 summers and this freaking turbo blows, not impressed... Probably end up buying a HKS GT-RS, better quality turbo *HKS uses different bearings. I've noticed alot of Garrett turbos are failing these days.

can you repost the link to the video by any chance? my turbo is making a weird whirling/whine (supercharger like) sound and I have a feeling that it's going bad.
