Recaro, Blitz, Momo, Sparco etc.
What do you have, how much was it, and what do you like?
Are buckets comfortable enough for a daily driver?
I want to replace the s13 bucket driver seat with an s14 seat, but I have some extra cash so I figured why not pick up a used racing seat. Probably something ~250 if its remotely possible. Also is it fine to straight bolt up a seat with custom brackets or are sliders recommended?

I like the upsidedown milkcrate bolted to the bottom of the car

I prefer soda crates, the Coke crates sit alot lower :p
Hmm, I prefer Recaros. I've driven an s2k with the Recaros and it holds really well with ultimate comfortabilty. Most likely going with Recaro's in my integra. I have yet to test out Bride Brix or Ergos, but I've heard great stuff from everyone. For $250 total, you won't find much but s14 seats or one of those r1 racing seats or tenzo.

bride brix
racing seat that's reclinable.
perfect for me.
recaro is comfy
rails suck
sparco is ok
rails suck
buckets SUCK for daily driving. its not easyto get in and out of them. i used to own one. if you go race seat for daily driver, go reclinable. if you race a lot, then go bucket

ACK
its not the seat! its the rail slider
this is how japan seats are:
SEAT
rail/slider combo (car specific)
this is how usa brands are (sparco, recaro, tenzo, etc)
SEAT
Slider (universal)
rail (car specific)
the universal slider adds about 1" and the rails are usually slightly higher, so puts you about 1.5 to 2 inches up
go japanese rails. its LOW.

I have s14 seats in my s13. I personally think there awesome.. There so much more comfortable then stock s13 seats and they look 100 times better..
If your looking for Sparco's, I have a friend selling a pair of red Brand new Sparco torino's.. There located in Queens.. His name is Byran and you can call him to find out about them. His number is 917-418-4031....

Hate to go against the grain yet again, but I like the look and feel of the original s13 seats (with the fixed headrests) :P

I have to agree. I personally think my OEM fixed headrest seats kick ass. :D

The stock monoform seat has a few issues that annoy me...
The headrest slot is too small for harnesses.
The outside upper bolster wears too quickly, and when it wears you get metal seat frame poking into your ribs on hard rights. At least I do.
No thigh bolsters whatsoever means I'm bracing my legs against the door and center stack.
I don't mind them for street driving, but on the track they're worthless.
I'm probably going to get a set of S14 seats, that still have no thigh bolstering but they at least have room for harnesses and don't poke me in the ribs.
