Understand I'm a :newbie: so I'm starting off with some fairly simple things done to my car. I worked on the fogged headlights and now it's time for the steering wheel. Please offer tips or point out any mistakes you may see because this will be my first steering wheel installation and seeing as I'm hispanic I find it hard to understand the Japanese and Italian written instructions that came with the items.

My car is a base 1996 240sx with airbags but no cruise control.

I know that first off you need to disconnect the car battery and straighten out the wheels. Then you pull off the covers located on each side of the stock steering wheel. Disconnect the airbag and, since i dont have cruise control, I dont need to worry about the other side. Unscrew side bolts, pull air bag, disconnect cables located behind the airbag and unscrew bolt holding wheel. Correct?

Now the following are pictures that, after observing the pictures in the instruction sheets, I'm assuming the new wheel will go. Please keep a close eye on the wiring cause that's where I have my doubts.

By the way, can you correct me if im wrong but (from right to left) these wires are the airbag/horn, cruise control and the one on the far left is ?

First is the Works Bell short hub. I noticed it had two small dots. Why so? This is how I alligned it. One dot lined up and the other dot is 3 screw holes to the right. Doing this wont cancel the signal cancellation will it?

Next I plugged the black wire on the bottom of the Rapfix to one of these circle pieces and then place the bottom of the Rapfix on top of the short hub making sure the "dot" guide on the Rapfix is centered on top of the short hub.

Used Hex screws that came with the short hub to tighten it to the bottom of Rapfix.

The red wire was placed through a large side hole on the short hub and comes out from behind the hub

The second circle that came with the Rapfix is placed on top of the quick release. As you can see I bent the inner metal and then plugged the black wire to it. I did this so the steering wheel horn can fit. Hope theres no problem doing this.

Now the red wire.... to what end of the horn does it get attached?
http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb21/ZroKool1/WorksB%20Momo/SteerSetup017.jpg

I didnt attach the red wire cause im not sure to which plug it gets attached to.

I kept the red wire off until i figure out where it gets plugged. In the meantime i just screwed the wheel in to have a look at what the final project might look like.

Did I do the wiring correct, keeping the black wire grounded and the red wire connected so the horn will work? The short hub and steering wheel came with their own screws. I used the Momo black screws to tighten it to the quick release and hexagon type screws that came with the short hub to tighten the bottom end of the quick release to the short hub.

The way I set this up, will it affect the signal cancellation device or does it look cool?

Thanks for stopping by and offering your :2c::2c:

when i installed mine the signal cancellation, as you call it, is gone as there are no tabs anymore to right the signal. ANYWAY REPOST IN TECH SECTION!!!!!

Yeah, I wasnt sure if this was a Tech issue or more of a chat issue. I remember reading people lost their signal cancellation, cruise control, horn, etc. and others needing to do some tweeking to get it working. The issue I had with those threads I was reading was that they were installing NRG hubs that dont come with the wiring and such that the Works Bell comes with.

to get the horn working it really doesnt matter which prong you hook the power up to (i picked the middle) just as long as you have power and a ground.

make sure you connect both of the wires from the hub to the male portion of the quick-release and it will work(in other words you dont need what you are holding) http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb21/ZroKool1/WorksB%20Momo/SteerSetup011.jpg

and for the horn get rid of that little metal thing(whatever you call it) and plug both wires into the horn

Ok. So I attach both red and black wires onto the horn instead of just the red wire (as shown in picture) and it doesnt matter which wire gets connected to which prong behind the horn, correct? So what about the red and black wires that are attached to the bottom of the quick release? I know they go through the short hub and under the dashboard. The red wire that has a wide prong connection gets attached to the SRS cancellation wire, but where will the black wire get connected?

I tried installing this to my car today and ran into some wiring problems. (First picture posted) The center and right wires dont seem to be able to get attached to anything while the left wire (wire im clueless to where it has to go) was able to get attached to a wire on the circular piece related to the air bag system thats located behind the stock steering wheel. Looking at several threads and videos online, people remove the stock steering wheel, unscrew the 6 screws to remove the plastic covering and then unscrew 4 screws to remove that rotating piece located behind the stock steering wheel.

Sorry my part terminology is bad.

In order for the short hub to fit you need to remove that piece. My question is where do the wires that come with the Works Bell 629 short hub go since none seem to fit and the one wire that did fit anywhere fits on a piece that needs to be taken off to make way for the hub and quick release.
