I've seen the DRFT s15 &the chopped wrx. I've been looking up stuff on hotrodding forums about chopping tops. Most of them keep the same front windshield post angle.
To my understanding, they section the roof in two places, between the A pillar and B pillar, and again between the B pillar and C pillar. They then shorten and mate the pillars accordingly, and add metal to the roof where the gaps are after shortening and lowering. I know i'm waay oversimplifying it.

Anyone ever done this on a 240 before? it would look pretty rad, but you'd have to get custom windows x 7 ($$$$$$$$$). I mspainted what it might look like..

pointless in that it won't make the car any faster. well, i guess you could make a case for better aero due to lower frontal area and maybe lower weight.

worthwhile in that it will certainly get more attention and help sell more brake pads.

would i do it on anything other than a show/drift car? hell no, wouldn't even consider it.

With bride side mount seats and rails with a 6 point and a helmet its iffy, cant imagine lowering the top being 6 foot.

i think it could be pulled off,

the red 180 IMO has too big of aero for the lack of anything on the top of a car.

I also think it could look VERY good, i agree that the ikeya aero kinda ruins it... but i think it could look damn sexy

I still don't think its worth the effort. Yeah its different, but like others have said, it looks "off"

What about a convertible s14? I personally haven't seen one, but if you were going to do something why not make that?

The Varietta and 350Z roadsters are ugly as sin....

If you 5 ft tall than it would work but I had to bolt my seat almost on the floor board to be able to put a helmet on in my S13. The bad thing is now I look like a normal person sitting in my car and not Magilla gorilla in a clown car

I barely have any headroom in the car as it is...

I think the reason the chopped WRX and the mspainted photo look nasty is because the A pillar angle stays the same, requiring roof extending (hence 300c). I was looking at the DRFT s15 and the a pillar angle looks much more slanted back? allowing the general roof size to stay the same/smaller.

I dunno, does it look more slanted back?

The bodies keep getting taller and taller.
Most new cars' stock bodies are bigger than a 240 with aggressive aero.

looks better stock. this is only cool on bigger cars with high body lines. that's why when you chop an old merc, it looks sick. but when you chop a 240, it looks like butt.
