I finally got my cage done, and now i have rear seats permanently out, and it looks kinda goofy with just the sound deadening down there.
What have other people done to make a rear removal look good?
Here is what i am working with right now:

Make a storage area like the 350z. Make a sub enclosure out of fiberglass. I would search on google for some ideas. I plan on doing something like this for my hatch

Just put up a "wall" and cut holes for the cage. Could make it into two pieces so that they come together to meet where the cage piping is. Could use fiberglass, carbon fiber, sheet metal, plexi-glass, etc...
Here's an example of someone doing this to on their S13 Coupe (no cage) using carbon fiber sheets (rear speaker shelf) and black speaker carpet as well.

Lay carpet over it and trim around the cage as needed?
That's what I'd personally do if I couldn't get seats back there.

Thats what i was thinking first. I kinda wanna see some pics of it done nicely though on an S14.
The cage was done by a buddy of mine, and myself kinda. lol I did little stupid prep work, and worked the arm on the bender.

Damn dude that is a clean cage. I suggest getting a little cover made out of aluminum. Make cardboard cutouts, and then cut it out of aluminum. If done right, it turns out looing very clean. No welding required. Rived it into place with existing holes in the interior.
I dunno i wanted to do that to mine.

beatrush from japan makes a delete in the rear my friend has one on his s14.
Kamispeed.com sells it. it's called a rear division plate for like 165 bucks

I second this. I have seen it done in person and even if you fuck it up it still looks 9000 times better than a cage and a big ugly hole!

I actually dont like the rear division panel lol. IDK why, but thats just not what im looking for at all. Im looking for ideas for the seat portion of the rear seat, the place where your ass would go. I like the carpet idea the best.

get a sheet of ABS plactic.. it comes in def. thicknesses depending on what you want. jus make a poster board template first. My old man and I both did that for our caged cars. (his '69 firebird and my s13 coupe)

a lot of nice suggestions
if you still have your backseats you can use the rear of them to make a FRP mold...
then use that to make something new.... cut out the holes of course.

just either leave it bare, or put your seats back in. the weight from them is negligable anyway.

i think im going to make a cover like the diversion panel out of a piece of 3/16 hard board with some padding on the back. then carpet the entire thing.

for the carbon fiber set up, what did the guy use to hold the sheets down like that? Are those screws holding them in? Is there another way to put them in to have a cleaner look?

I really like the no rear seats carpet look. Really feel it looks stock or could with some work. Kinda want to try it just because I hate having people try to cram in my backseat. LOL

Personally, Id cut the seats so they could fit with the cage. We did it on my buddy's legacy.. basically just notched the foam so the seat could still go in, then reupholstered it. He rarely uses his rear seats, and they dont really weigh that much, so we decided to make them work. Not a comfy ride for whoevers back there, but when you really need a 3rd or 4th seat... we're always glad theyre there. Fully caged 320whp EJ25 legacy that still seats four. Awesome.
