Just double checkign as I cant seem to find it on here, the small sensor just forward of the shifter is the reverse lights sensor, the one nearest to the bell housing is the tach sensor and the one with the 10mm bolt holding it in is the speed sensor?
I tried to find a pic too specifically with the side of the trans with the sensors on but had no luck with that either.
If there is a thread with this, could someone please :duh: me and link to it.
Thanks!

There is no tach sensor on the Tranny, Yes the one with the 10mil bolt is the speed sensor
there is one sensor and two switches on the SR tranny Speed sensor, Reverse Switch and Neutral Switch
But Courtesy Nissan show three switches on their IPB it show a Neutral,Overdrive,Reverse although it under the 240SX tranny

Shizzle, my tach does not read. Only had the thing started up and idled. Are you able to educate me on where my tach should be reading? Thanks...

Was the Car a SOHC before?
If so then you need to install the the Tach from a DOHC Cluster

It was a SOHC digital cluster w/ HUD, but I changed to a CA18DET digital HUD cluster. The speed reads but the tach needle just sticks at zero.
This is not good news...

Im not sure if the CA and the SR Tachs will work if swapped but get a DOHC or SR Tach and just swap it out, you can swap just only the tachs

Thanks, appreciate the help sileighty_85. Nothing but sound advice. :bigok:
And if anyone on here knows about differences between wiring on CA and SR clusters please let me know, thanks!

well i meant i didnt know if the CA tach works with the SR.
Just pulling out the tach itself and putting in the SR or DOHC one should fix ur problem

Well I just did some reading up on an Aussie forum and that the CA tach is similar to the NA sohc tach in terms of voltage.... ah well. Im going to dig some more and verify that.
