well to cut the bs, my computer in my 95 is going, its ok for now, but i will need one asap. I was gonna ask what you guys think about buying ECU on e-bay? i found one today for like 50 bucks for 94-95.

another question, since i already gonna get a diff ecu why not go ahead and get a JEt Ecu upgrade?
thanks

I would steer away from buying an ECU on ebay unless the guy was VERY reputable and had OUTSTANDING and EXCESSIVE positive feedback. I wouldn't be surprised if some private seller sold it for $50, you get it & it doesn't work & he can try to say something happened during shipping or you didn't install it right. You would also need to make sure it was for your car--auto or 5-speed, 95 or 96, etc.

Be very careful of ebay-- we don't want you to get screwed.

i just looked at that guys feedback he has some negative, but not much. ill probably go as the dude at the dealership said to get remanufactured, or one from junkyard for 100-200$$$.

as far as JET ECU upgrade, should it worth it? its 400$.

Do you need one for an auto or manual? If you need an auto, I have one.
Also... go for the ebay ecu. Just get insurance. If the ecu doesn't work when you plug it in, goto the shipping company for your money. They'll do the research and pay up or go after the shipper.
Also.. JET... some people say it's the same as JWT, others say it's different. I'd personally go with experience on this one, and go with JWT. Also, if you go turbo later, it's only $115 to upgrade.

Ummmm not to sound like an ass, but how do you know it's yer computer dieing??

Sensors tend to go, but ECUs..... really doubting that whatever is wrong with your car is ecu's fault.

Most computer systesms show no symptoms of "going." Electronic circuits and microprocessors simiply "go." What is the car doing that is making you think somoething is wrong with your ECU??

hmm for starters the electric stuff inside the car like lights and **** is controled by a wire that goes from the battery. one night the bracket broke so the wire kept conn/discon which kept creating power off/on. if i wasnt drunk/lazy i could have gotten that fixed for 5 bucks by geting another bracket. but instead i waited it blue out ALL fuses burned ALL wires, left side window motor and amplifier, and couple of sensors.

now, i had a problem with a crankshaft position sensor and the engine light wont go off, so i took it to a place i usially take it to if i need something, and the guy after 2 day check said its the ECU that doesnt put out the right voltage, but the sensor is fine. he said its only a matter of how soon the ecu dies...
hope this answers your question Kreator

in 2 words.... ecu is not puting out right voltage causing the sensors to malfunction. :(
