I want to go to Wyotech for racicng chassis fabrication in Sacramento and I am wondering what you people from there or around it think of the place. It would be a big change from here. Starting with the no snow according to the interwebs, thank god.
And has anyone here went to Wyotech? If so what was that like? I am really dead set on doing this next year so lmk people.

i personaly like sacramento . i hear alot of people complain that it is boring , but so is everywhere else ive been . there are quite a few tracks fairly close . . . thunderhill , stockton99 , ufo ... there are twelve kart tracks with in five hours . its all in what you make it .
everyone from wyotech that i have worked with was an idiot . i have known a lot of people that have gone , and say that it is overpriced and didnt focus on what they wanted to learn . but , once again . . . it is all in what you make it . i went to a j.c. and i really liked the programs and what i took from them .
good luck

i love sacramento!
been here 10 years now. the cities from lincoln down to sacramento are laid out fairly simple. people drive like morons here, but they drive like morons anywhere. cops dont really harrass imports much up here. ive been cited for my exhaust just once in 6 years of having a 3 in catback. never had my hood popped.
as far as nightlife? we got u covered. u like clubs? sacramento is for u. u like bars and bar hoppin? folsom, old roseville. arco is right down 80 and folsom lake is 35 min drive from downtown. snowboarding is maybe an hour away but nothing too far.
join us up here, sure it will be a big change from where u live, but i think u will like it. its a big city, but its got a small town feel to it. lookin to come check it out, hit me up. i got a big house in roseville/rocklin area with plenty of room to crash at. ill show ya around.

sacramento is only boring if you are a boring person. it has everything a really big city has. i dont get why people say shit like that.

Born and raised in Sacramento and I can't complain. It's just home... I'm a youngin so i would not know about any bar hopin' or club hopin'. but the people are chill, and well It's home, like i said before. I've heard nothing bad about Wyotech, there is also another school in town, U.T.I, which i've heard is better? BUT i would not know. Check em both out!

Sactown is kewwww...like mentioned b4 its all in what you make of it....We are close to alot of different things to do, and not too far from the snow if you wana go back to that for snowboarding..etc..
as far as the school +1 on idiots attending there...alot of them dont put in 100% focus and end up with a stupid cert and no legitamate setup after schooling...retarded...its all hard work too...

Sacramento isn't bad, it used to have a pretty good music scene if you enjoy posi or hardcore, not sure how it is now since I think West Coast World Wide is gone. There is plenty to do, and if you do get bored Davis is close and a fun place to hang out.. plus there are cute girls, haha. If you are really bored SF isn't all that far, which I prefer to Sac, but that is me.
Can't say much for Wyo, I knew someone that went and he wasn't the brightest... lol.

"You are the WHY generation, do you really want to be working at a McJob all your life?"
I've seen the wyotech presentation when in high school 8 times. From what I hear (word on the street) wyotech is much better than UTI (if thats in your head at all).
The good thing is, being in Sacramento, you can have equal distance to Norcal and Socal drift events and such, because as we all know, CA is the hotspot for drifting in the US (for the most part).

Any city is boring if you don't do anything but sit on your ass. It's well-developed but not OVER-developed. Still plenty of scenic roads to cruise down if you go looking. UTI is definitely a worse choice than Wyotech, and it's all what you make of it. I'm friends with one of the teachers at Wyo, and it's good times.

Sacramento is great city to live in. Theres lots of things to do only if you want to. Its inthe center of california so places like sf, la, chico arnt to far away. Clubs scene is awsome and downtown/mid-town sac is great for bar hoping and having a laid back time. I dont about davis guys but its not a fun place. Lots of old ppl and the ppl there are usally stuck up. I lived there for a couple months with my ex... u dont know how i disliked that place. The cops there are asses, the ppl in their bikes are rude. Feel like a big ass small downtown area. PLus, if your anwhere near the shool or dorms on a hot day it smells like cow shit.
Roseville is cool too for bars and the girls are hot in that area but lots of bar dousch bags.
As far as wyotech, i think its a better school than uti. Every guy i met from uti has no job or anything to show for it. Only 2-3 make it out with something. I went to a jc not to far away from sac. Acutally If wyotech doesnt work out then go to sierra college. I think they automotive classes. Its cheaper but alot longer in progress of getting certs.
I acutally want to move to sac this summer. It has a great feel, ppl are cool, drivers suck but whatever, and you got the biggest wal-mart around what more can u ask?

Basically I have every reason to go there and never look back. I am 20, and am dieing to learn everything I have beent old I am taught in the racing chassis fabrication course I want to take. Ever since I was 12 and watching skate videos I was like zomg California. Now im mature enough to have more legit reasons starting with my town is a dead end and everyone gets stuck in it.
I want to know this. I skateboard, I bmx, I drift, I paintball, I love fishing, I love getting out and doing whatever im up to try anything new and just have fun doing all of it. I like meeting new people and making new friends and having connections. Here winter stops all of thos things and slows things down so I see my progression in life moving alot faster and better for what I want it to be.
So would Sacramento be a good place for a person like me to settle down in for a whil?
Basically the guy im meeting from Wyotech said I will have financial aid, possible scholarship, student housing assistance (they find me an apartment in tha area zing!!), they get me a job whil im in school, and they do job placement for life anywhere in the usa after graduation. I plan on getting a job at the local walmart auto center so I can transfer to the one there and already have a decent job to help me. I am excited and im dieing to go there this summer and check the place out so if anyone has somwhere I can crash and show me the goodness of town and not fall through let me know asap so I can plan this out now.:l101:

I'd love to move up in that area lol. You're right in the middle of everything. Too bad it's not cheaper, but then that would defeat the point :p

I grew up in Roseville myself, They've reallly revamped the place like Galleria, The Fountains and what not, bascially took all the good ideas from the bay area and put it in Roseville.
