i bouth an s13 coupe with an SR20DE N/A....
i have the sr a/c compressor and i want to install it but my question is, should i keep this compressor and install it, getting the custom lines and stuff? or should i get a KA compressor and the special brackets for sr's? which would make my life easier????????
thanks

The sr20de compressor i think is smaller, the ka compressors are much bigger and will be colder. You can just bolt the ka compressor to the redtop sr a/c bracket and it will bolt up using two bolts on the bracket and it should work. If you are scared because of the two bolts then you can get a custom bracket. But some ppl on here have being running with the two bolt and nothing happen. Plus it's cheaper but then again that's your choice. The a/c line should bolt up. Hope that helps

Lol the KA compressor will be colder... an oversized compressor will not make it colder but only cause more problems..

But the KA Compressor is built for the 240sx components durrrrr....

Use a 91-94 KA compressor (i think 3 of the 4 bolt holes on the compressor line up) or have lines made at any hydraulic line shop..

Oh sorry for the misinformation but that is what i read from some site. SInce the ka compressor is bigger it can be stronger than the smaller sr comrpressor

Compressor is only one part of the equation. Condenser, Evaporator and Orifice size play a more important role.

If the KA compressor is already off. You are going to have to get a new drier and the system vacuumed down to purge the air. Probably won't me to much more to get the lines made.

For me, the KA is better because you can go into an auto parts store and buy a new compressor should you ever need one down the line. Plus I have an S14, so I had an R134a compressor already. I bought those brackets/belt codyace sells and am using my stock S14 compressor and lines on my S13 SR20. Everything fits great.
