Hi guys
I brought a gt3071r for my s14 sr . I have 555cc injectors,z32 maf, 3inch exhaust, fmic. ecu tune
My question are. Is it possible to hit the 350whp number on this turbo whit stock cams or need absolutely need to change cams for 256 or 264?
thanks

Do you want to keep them stock? It would be more efficient/effective if you swapped them.

Even if you go with a Step 1 cam if will be a big improvement.
We ran a HKS 256 cams in a car with a 2871R on AEM made 343 whp.

gt3071r .50a/r compressor .86a/r exhaust side
topmount, tial 38mm external wastegate.
I check probably for a set of 264 hks step 1
or mabye BC 264 cam (Price is low compare to HKS)

Im guessing 70whp...guess thats what you'd get when you max out the 555cc injectors before the turbo even spools up and hit its efficiency rate.

I'm predicting you'll be pushing about a bajillion horsepower.

might want to considder a few things before thinking about how much power youre going to make with that nicely sized turbo
1) MAJOR suggestion...get rid of your rom tune and pick up a stand alone...AEM or PowerFC will work nicely (in your case id recommend the powerFC...get the DJetro and have it dyno tuned...get rid of that useless MAF...MAP is a much more precise way of tuning)
2) get rid of those 550cc injectors...those things are too small...to make RELIABLE power with what turbo youre using...i would HEAVILY suggest you switch to AT LEAST 1000cc top feed injectors with a top feed rail...you can pick up a complete conversion from JGY for like 400 dollars (thats rail, injectors, clips etc etc)...side feeds are kinda eh when it comes to working with better fuels like E85, E100 or even C16...you start puttin ANYTHING but normal unleaded petrol thru those things and they become USELESS (even 100 octane doesnt tune well on sidefeeds)
3)dont skimp on the cam duration...the easier the turbo can breathe both in AND out...the more power you can make reliably...i wouldnt suggest ANYTHING under 264 duration cams for a turbo that size...youre prolly better off with something in the 270 or 280 range...build your head properly though...headgasget, cam gears (sorry guys...stock ones = fail when building a head) valve springs, retainers, a new set of valves and valve guides, plus maybe a solid lifter conversion setup...build the head to be adjustable and tuneable...dont just drop some random cams in there and expect to make it run better
basically you invested a good amount of money in that turbo of yours that can put down serious power...you need to start looking at other aspects of your SR to invest in as well...longevity and power can go easily hand in hand with the SR when you tune it correctly...dont tune it just for sheer power either...tune it so the knock in your engine stays WAY down and you can take the motor out to the track (be it drifting or road racing) and beat the christ out of it...when everything is tuned correctly there is VERY VERY little to worry about going wrong in an SR

True the limit of your HP with your Turbo is injectors but for 350 wheel I think you should be safe. Big turbo but at low boost youll get 350 wheel using stock manifold intake n exhaust on lower boost. Make sure you spend your money on a good stand alone. PFC D or L jetro, D Jetro will be a rougher idle and yes less sensors and less stuff to go wrong later but to be honest, you dont need it with your power goals. If your idea is big power later then build your head, not with stage 1 cams because you may want more later but stage two HKS, Tomei if you go solid lifters.

Good job bumping a thread thats almost 2 yrs old. And if you really thinking you can push 555cc injectors close to 350whp, you're retarted.

350 whp is doable on 555cc. seen ppl run 300whp on 370cc. its called a fpr. On 555cc you wont even have to raise it much if at all.
Maybe previous poster saw some misleading info and had to bump it.

I would rather have 1000cc injectors running at 65% than 555cc running at 95%

ever tuned a car? I can tell you havent. larger injectors at low duty get sloppy. tuning at higher duty is more precise.

Hey T, you know when you get in to big injectors a lot of the time you run into sloppy idling?

I have never tuned a car, I have had a couple cars tuned before and the duty cycle was usually around 65-75% I wouldn't call that low at all.

Lmao.. Dude u can get that n more.. A friend made over 450whp on race gas vp110 with some gay ass hks 256 cams ... So on pump gas 350 is not a problem. Even with stock cams. But some 264 would be nice!!

450, on a HKS 265X, idk I don't really see that happening since most of those turbo's are good for 380ish max bhp not whp.

the 256 are the step 1 hks cams i beleive....
and one more thing. hks does make some big ass turbos.. such as t04z t51r ... google it
