Not asking for crazy stuff like painting the engine bay or cutting a hole in firewall. I might have a chance to do a SR swap soon. And, overall, the SR should be healthy and does not require a rebuild or tune up. I'm not looking for performance upgrade but finding possible maintenances that is most benetial in a long run. When the engine is out, what and how can inspect the things over the chasis? Here is a list I cam accross for the engine and other mechanic parts:

Coolant Temp Sensor Nissan: 22630-Z32 $25
Front Main Seal Nissan: 13510-SRS13 $20
Rear Main Seal Nissan: 12279-SR20T $15
Transmission Pilot Bushing Nissan: 32202-00001 $6
Water Pump Nissan: S13-SR20DET-WP $75
Valve Cover Gasket Nissan: 13270-SRS13 $12
Spark Plug Cover Gaskets Nissan: 13270-SR13C (x4) $16
Intake Plenum To Head Gasket Nissan: 14032-SR20T $6
Intake Plenum To Collector Gasket Nissan: 14032-SR20T $4
Nismo Thermostat Nissan: 21200-149DF $56
Manifold To Head Gasket Nissan: 14036-SR20T $15
Manifold To Turbo Gasket Nissan: 14415-SR20T $15
Turbo To Extension Gasket Nissan: 14445-SR20T $12
Fuel filter Nissan: 16400-SR20T $20
PCV Valve Nissan: 11810-SRS13 $20
Oil filter Nissan: 15208-SR20T $10

Or fuel filter from z32

@ Transmission Pilot Bushing - If you're going to replace anything in the transmission I suggest you change the clutch out all together, get a new throwout bearing along with it, and a fork pivot, it's best to make sure everything's good with the clutch.... I know first hand.

If you don't want to spend more than $200...

Resurface Flywheel ~$20
Replace Throwout Bearing (http://www.phase2motortrend.com/srthoutbe.html) $35
Replace Pilot Bushing $7
Replace Clutch Fork Pivot (http://www.phase2motortrend.com/nis1pi.html) $40
Buy Clutch Alignment tool (if you don't already have one and you didn't buy a diff. clutch) ~$15

~$117

@ Water Pump
Always good
@ Gaskets
Change them all, best to do that when the engine's out and you don't know how long the other ones have been in there, if I had the tools to swap the engine out on my own I'd be down for about a week just changing gaskets and stuff like that. but #1 I don't have tools, #2 it's my daily.

@ Thermostat
I don't suggest you change any of your cooling parts (other than pump bc if that goes out that's a lot more of a hassle than a thermostat and if you're not overheating you don't really need it)

@ Fuel Filter
It's almost a must to upgrade to Z32 fuel filter, I don't know anyone with an SR who doesn't run it. But then again I've seen the S13 front clips having small fuel filters, but why not just have a bigger one?

@ Oil Filter
Duh

Anything I didn't list, I have no idea what it is and if I do then I haven't done work on it.

All of these things that I've listed I've personally worked on.

Good luck!

i respectfully disagree on the thermostat part.

water pump is a must to replace, it is cheap. but the thermostat is only 10$ for a stock one. you don't want a unknown condition thermostat there. its so easy to change!
get a nismo. 50$. also get a coolant temp gauge, a good full sweep.

isnt this a tech section question.....

but all that stuff is good just depends on what you can afford.

if u cant afford to buy the motor and refresh it a bit, then wait ntil u can. just my opinion.

Honestly though, i would suggest replacing every hose on it while its still out, not just that but plug cleaning, degreasing, belts, water and oil pumps, atleast the water pump, if u can take the time replace the gaskets for the intake and exhaust manifolds, replace the worn out old rusted bolts aswell...
