I have a 1989 240sx coupe, in two tone seafoam and charcoal.
currently, the car isnt running, and i have no idea why it isnt. it appears to be injecting an excess of fuel, and the spark doesnt seem strong enough.
I bought this car 2 years ago, as a shell from a fellow zilvian. i sourced a driveshaft, had my engine, bought a harness, computer, transmission, new clutch, a flywheel, radiator, intake, and full exhaust for it.
i ended up blowing up that engine, and after buying and blowing another engine within a week, i decided to do a full rebuild on the engine i first had.
this is what i can remember that is done with it
new ichiba knock off front 5 lug hubs and s14 SE wheels (i have rear s14 hubs, and can swap for the buyer, one set of the SE wheels has brand new rubber)
mishimoto radiator, with new stant rad cap
'95 KA24DE full rebuild
New pistons, rings, gaskets, oil pump, bearings, and the crank was ground down 10 thousandths, and the block was line bored. both fitted with matching bearings. This was done this past summer, and after the parts and machine work, it cost me 1200, and the labor of doing it myself.
the exhaust on her is all ebay, a 4-2-1 ebay header, with 2 O2 sensor bungs, a 3 inch ebay test pipe, and 3 inch ebay catback exhaust, with 4.5 inch muffler.
the intake is a 3 inch aluminum short ram, with a 4.5 inch ebay cone filter.
the transmission is a '97, and it has approximately 90,000 miles. the shifter is an ebay C's short shifter knock off.
the clutch is an exedy with approx. 600 miles on it.
after the rebuild, i have had it started, and have driven it about 40 miles, but the starting is intermitten, and i am still not sure what is causing it. the wiring on the chassis is somewhat of a nightmare, and i want whoever wants to buy it that i personally was planning on going with a painless chassis harness, and do megasquirt, as i believe the problem to be with the chassis harness somewhere. just being honest.
the chassis does have a couple of blemishes, it is rusting very minorly just around the weather stripping of the windshield, and the paint is peeling in a couple of areas. also, there is a dent in the front passenger fender, right at the tip, and i will try to show all of these in the pictures.
also, the power steering and air conditioning have been completely removed, and currently there isnt a fan for the radiator
I am selling this car because i want out of the 240 game, being in college to be a ceramist doesnt exactly rake in the money, and i need to spend money towards my career,
I would like this car to go to someone with some knowledge in 240's but if necessary i will part it out.
not sure what to sell a car for that has a decent amount of money into it, but currently doesnt run, so offer up.
