I really dont want the gears to dry out and rust, should I soak the gears with wd40? Im hunting a retaining pin that walked up into one of the bearings.
Some people say wd40 is a no-no on the bearings.

How long do you plan on leaving it apart?

well im inspecting this tranny, because I have a feeling I was ripped off. - makes some clicking sounds while turning the input shaft.
I plan on leaving it apart for 1 week.
I will however put the casing back togeather.

coat with gear oil and put in a plastic bag
I had mine apart in a plastic bag for 6 months without a problem

wd40 will kill bearings
gears?should be ok but just use oil to be safe
in a zip lock bag works good
