Day 2:
Painted the block flat black with high temp enamel. Silver head, once again, high temp. Exhaust manifold and turbo hot side, flat black, high temp. Valve covers are an extremely dark blue. Front timing cover is also gloss black.
Still more work to be done, but its getting there.

Anyways, heres and update on the harness issue...
OK so I got ahold of Chris at Osaka today and this is the deal.
He said isntead of having me send the harness back to them, and then them sending me another one, that I should find a shop to repair the harness, get a quote, and then Osaka would pay me that amount to fix the harness.
Should I do it? Opinions?
First shop that came to mind was Raw Brokerage, as they seem pretty legit and recommended on here. This is the email that I sent them.

Hey guys I got a question for you.
I ordered a motor from Osaka JDM Motors. Its an RB25DET Series 1. When I got the motor, part of the harness was cut. Right past the grommet, on the engine bay side. It kinda branches off from the main harness.. Its about 10-15 wires.
I contacted them and they said instead of having me send the harness to them, that I should find someone to repair the harness for me, and that they would send me the money to pay the repair shop.
So Im wondering, do you guys repair harnesses, and to get a quote would I have to send it to you guys?
Let me know, thanks!!!

You should have painted valve covers after the swap is finished... don't let em get scratched, put painters tape over them.

Engine looks clean though... You should get a freddy intake manifold, the $199 special... I got one, love it..

You removed your intake and exhaust manifolds and valve covers... but you didn't bother to change the timing belt, water pump, etc? Also change the rear main seal while the engine is out.

This is a great time to flush the block too.

As for the wiring, you can reuse your KA lower harness so the part with the wires cut, where you describe it, shouldn't be critical. At least, where you describe it, I don't have anything branching off of my RB harness. Just my KA lower harness that I combined with the RB one.

I love RB25 build threads, keeps me motivated till I can do my own one day. You are aware that you can curse like a drunken sailor if you feel like it right?

Please keep solicitations for work and mindless bickering to PM's. Not cluttering up some guys build thread.

You think that part of the ahrness could be the part that goes to the lower harness? If so, I wonder how it connects?

Its just weird. Ill have to see where those wires go to the ecu.

Something i thought of maybe its ABS????

It looks like I have two dash plugs, one is a little bigger then the other and a friend said it might be an ABS plug or something. Ill let you guys know.

BTW valve covers arent going on till the motor is dropped in.

No part of the engine harness plugs into the lower harness (except for the knock sensor harness which should be extracted from your RB lower harness).... This "build thread" turned into a "how do i do this, what goes where" thread... Generally in a build thread you post pictures and inform (teach) us what you're doing. I'm just saying people would rather see tons of pictures. If you're not sure then you might want to send your harness off. Like I said I can do it and have a 2/3-day turn around time

Nice hope the harness thing works out for you. Also, yeah you should change all of the gaskets, seals, hoses, belts, water pump, etc. you can while the motor is out. You won't have room once it's in the car. What motor/trans mounts are you going to use?

95% of the gaskets are getting changed minues the ehad gasket and the timing belt. Its my decision, I have my reasons, you dont like it, STFU.

Going with McKinney tranny/motor mounts and drive shaft.
