Hey all...I was wondering if the factory CD player from a '96 240SX SE would work in a S13 that came with the factory tape player and the active speaker system?  Thanks!

I asked a Nissan mechanic once, he said yes. I think all you'd need is a wiring harness. Now the problem with S14 factory CD players is that they won't play burnt CDs and they skip a lot. Am I right?

As far as I can remember it played burnt CD's okay. &nbsp;I don't remember having too many skipping problems. &nbsp;I'll probably take it apart and clean it before I send it on it's way to it's new owner. &nbsp;I'll probably up in the Chicagoland area soon enough again for some reason or another...maybe even just to drop a radio off. &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

i have the 96 se with the cd/tape player and i burn cd all the time at 4x. &nbsp;the only time they skip is when you are driving and hit major bumps.

You people may laugh, but I actually like the look of the stock Nissan one. It's nice and simple and black. I don't really like all the shiny stuff.

i had a stock nissan cd player before, n it wouldn't play the cd's well at all if it had just rained really hard or if it was cold outside, mostly just when it was cold n raining though. sounds like it was just mine, n oh yeah, it didn't play cd-r's half the time.
