i have had a ka24e with a spun rod bearing before so i know for a fact this isnt the case. i even checked the rod caps.
the noise isnt as deep as rod knock. it speeds up as the rpms go up and slows when decellerating.
this engine used to have a really high pitch lifter tick that was fixed with justice brothers engine metal treatment(awsome stuff)
this knocking noise isnt as high pitch as the old lifter problem i had.
i dont hear it when heavy on the gas, or when engine breaking. i hear it most when im kind of in between, coasting in gear. i was thinking maybe something to do with the valve train?? this noise was much more noticeable during the coldest of winter. the car is currently sitting in the body shop and im painting it in july and would like it to run well after that haha.
thanks a lot for the ideas!
