It is louder when i am in reverse. Whenever the car is moving there is a whining sound. Even if i am in nuetral. I am I havent done any recent mechanical stuff. I think it is more from the passenger rear. There is still a descent amount of brake pads.

bearings may be shot but I usually hear noise on my rear end when my diff needs to be re-shimmed.
What kind of LSD do you have?

This morning it didnt make the sound in reverse. It did make it going forward the whole time. If i put on the brakes it stopped though.

Take the dog/hostage out of the trunk....I keed I keed.
Since you have an open diff I am leaning towards wheel bearings going bad. I had a similar experience recently. Replaced rear wheel bearings and it went away. The rears are hard to diagnose because initially they seem normal until you release the torque off of the axles then you can hear one or both grind as you spin them by hand.

My car made that sound and I replaced my whole wheel bearing/hub and it was gone. BTW can you just replace the bearing because mine wouldn't press out?

as said above i would try checking the wheel bearings and also your center support bearing on your driveshaft just to be safe =)

Thanks guys. How do i check the bearing? Jack the car up and move the wheel or pull it to see if there is any play. Anyone got a passenger rear bearing/hub or know a good place to get one.
