heavier and heaviest

17x9 - 25lbs
18x9.5 - 28.5lbs

i know its your car and all...but seriously...save for better wheels...with the amount of rotational mass youre going to add using those sportmax wheels + wheel spacers to make them look at all decent...your brakes will hate you for it (i noticed an IMMEDAITE difference when i switched to the hotwheels i bought for my 5 lug conversion...they were 21lbs a peice...car spun the wheels easier drifting, braked ALOT better, and i noticed quite a bit of power go back to the wheels in lower torque ranges)

save your money...buy a 5 lug swap and some good 5 lug wheels...i know it seems like a lot of money...but ITS WORTH IT!!!! i spent years saying "im never gonna go 5 lug...its a waste of money blah blah blah" and it was seriously the 3rd best upgrade i could ever do to my 240 (1st being my SR, second being my coilovers/LSD)

those wheels are played-out, plus they are pretty heavy.like one ^^ say. there some pretty decent rims that arent as heavy and good looks too.

Sportmaxs are super heavy. My advice is to find a 4-lug fno1rc wheel (if you are 4-lug and dont want to convert to 5 lug).

Take the advice from others and buy something you want the first time. In the end you save money if you build up your car right the first time.

I would of saved a crapload of money if I built my car right the first time... But if you like sportmax's then w/e its your car.

Well, I don't regret my purchase... But I've already bought the wheels lol...

Umm, sort of an impulse buy but I DO want to upgrade to better wheels in the future. Near future? Maybe, but these wheels are EXACTLY what I wanted for the look I'm going for.

I do want to upgrade to something lighter but it seems like the only wheels that I like are...

TE37's
57 Maximum-Pro
57 Pro
Professor SP1-R
VS XX
Work Meister

I want 17s or 18s thats at least $3K right?

I don't want to buy replica's because... That's not the same thing, and it'll probably be a lot heavier.

and no doubt, I can totally tell the difference in acceleration with these wheels over my stock SE 15s. They're super heavy, that's what I wanted to know how much they weigh.

I figured I'd get something sorta cheap but not EXTREMELY cheap since I haven't been driving for that long. If I scratch a wheel with my sportmax's I'll be mad but... I wouldn't be as mad as I would if I were to scratch any of the wheels listed above.

I don't really dig any enkei, 5zigen, or konig wheels. Too many spokes, just not my style.

Do you have any suggestions for my next set of wheels that are like 962's? That aren't $3,000 a set?

And just so you all know, I completely agree with you, but I simply didn't have anything else in my price range that I like.

if youre gonna do it..do it right and spend 2000-2500 on your next set of wheels

im thankful for every penny i spent on my SSR MS1s (the wheel that sportmax copied for the 962s)...theres a reason theyre 600 bux a wheel...when you can take the wheel and lift it over your head with one hand EASILY you know youve spent your money wisely (my 18x10s only weigh 19.2 lbs a peice with no tires)

i dont think the price matters. No braggin rights there. If volk or work made wheels at a more reasonable price i would opt for them without a second thought. BUT they dont.

too heavy?get smaller wheels....

Gram lights are cheap and you can easilly pick up a set of used wheels over buying brand new pieces of garbage......Only way I would put crappy wheels on my car is if its my daily driver( nissan versa) and I don't do any hard driving just need something nicer than stock

what does that mean, reasonable price? reasonable to who? is macdonalds reasonable? because i still walk past macdonalds wondering how they charge money for shit food.

the way i see it, its up to the manufacturer to set their price based on their own variables. list pricing is exactly that, what the mfg feels is reasonable.

the word reasonable varies from person to person. if you're making a dollar an hour, nothing in this world is going to be priced reasonably. however, any working professional who is serious about tuning his car shouldnt complain about the cost of parts. they're expensive because of the materials, craftsmanship, and R&D that goes into them.

i told a customer of mine this weekend who wanted to put wheels on his G37 that if he doesnt want to spend an arm and a leg, put another OEM wheel on his car and call it a day (r35 gtr wheels). at least OEM wheels are fairly easy to attain, cost effective, look good, and are not shit quality like most aftermarket wheels.

i wouldnt touch a sportmax wheel with a 10 foot pole. ide rather just keep it stock.

Fuuuuck it... SSR's it is... I really like SSR's, I got a catalog from phase2 when I went to go pick up some parts. They've got SUPER sick wheels.

Hopefully I've got my good chassis by then, because my chassis is beat, right now my wheels are probably worth more than my chassis.

Thanks for the advice :D

Why are you getting the other set in may? You bought 2 at a time?

Holy Crap.

Where'd you order them from and what'd they cost total?

and how'd you fit them without having them with you?

my first set of 5 lug wheels were 17x9 +0 hotwheels sixty eights...i could fit those with ease...so fitting 18x10 +11 and 18x9 +6 wheels is super easy...my track wheels are JIC JForce 5s that are all around 18x9.5 +15...just add camber and roll ur fenders...super easy fitment

and i got my wheels thru my sponsorship with SSR...they do not sell wheels directly though so please dont ask me for the prices i paid or who you can call there...you will need to find a distributor of their wheels (which there are quite a few of on this forum...get a hold of ASpec on here to get SSRs ordered)...for a set like mine you will wind up paying around 2400 bux for them...kinda pricey...but worth every penny (as all of SSRs wheels tend to be)
