First of all, how much has everyone spent on their cars so far? Car itself + mods... I've spent about 6,500 total so far. 2600 for the car, and 3900 on mods for it.

Secondly, where would your money go if you weren't spending it on your 240? I know a lot would go into my computer, but I can't think of what else.

Wow, what could I do w/ an extra $256.37/month? I could finally put wallpaper on my bathroom wall (which has been bare drywall for 4 months now), buy blinds/drapes for my downstairs windows, retile the entry-way, retile the kitchen, put new wallpaper in the kitchen, entry-way, & office, etc. Home ownership is an expensive biatch sometimes!!

If I didn't have my car payment for the past 20 months, I'd be able to have an extra minimum of $5640!! Wowsers, those payments add up!

I actually cannot even imagine not spending all my money on cars though. Its definately a sickness. lol.

Well the money I have saved right now would probably be spent on a custom made comp, thats about a G, the rest would be on clothes, XBOX, games, camera stuff, ebay stuff, dvds, then back to poorness.

Look at it this way, cars are teaching us how to save, at least some of us, hopefully I learn to save for something other than a car (i.e. a house)

According to your profile, you're from Ohio. Where is this depression anyways? With my car I'm in a constant state of bliss. Well... until I start listing all the mods I want to do in my head, and then tack on the cost of each. Then my jaw hits the floor a second before I pass out! (I've been up for almost 30 hours now)

Anywho. I spent $1600 on the car. It needs a bit of work (the holes on either side of the third brake light are speed holes... they make the car go faster:D). I've already put about $1000 into standard maintainece and stereo. And I'll probably have spent around $5000 to $6000 by the end of the summer.

If I didn't have the car, most the money would go to alcohol, porn, my girlfriend and I'm not sure what else. Maybe my savings account so I can plan for the future.... HAHAHAHAHA!

hockey. playing two forms of it is doubly expensive. roller actually costs more though....

my wheels (which I think still aren't commercially available to the public yet) cost around $96 a set (http://www.rinkrat.com)(although, since they aren't technically sold yet, and i got em for free).... the bearings are $75 a set. I go through a set of bearings once a month during the college season. Used to go through wheels that much but the new wheels are just that great. Plus sticks and blades: $100 per shaft, $30 per blade, and I go through a couple blades a month.

Then there's video games... an area I've been meaning to get back into but just don't have the time or money.....

Wow, now that I think about it: If I was as stingy about my car as I am about my hockey equipment, I'd have an SR with a JUN 2.2L stroker kit, an HKS ball bearing turbo, JIC coilovers, GTR rims, the stickiest tires possible (and replace my tires every few thousand miles just because I have the impression they didn't hold a corner the way I wanted), and all sorts of high end crap..... (to put it in perspective, the already listed stuff isn't the high end crap... the high end crap just goes beyond)

wow.... maybe I'll take a break from hockey for a while.

i spent about $1k for my S13 and about $7k-8k restoring/improving her. so, in the course of 1 yr, i spent $9k.

with that money, i would've had a prty decent computer and have been heavly involved in video games. i would've had every system and game that was made for each system. or i would've spent it all on clothes and become ultra trendy. or i would've spent it all on playing college level tennis. gear and equipment aren't that expensive, but none of it lasts more than a couple months. damn, if i kept playing til now, i'd still be able to serve 125mph+. :(

uhhh... $650 for car (guy was moving, needed to sell quick:D ) and then about $1500 for the parts that are actually on the car. $800 for a new engine (I hate you damn 12valve SOOO MUCH!) $450 for LSD, and $0 for a bazillion burnout tires (still doing peglegs though! $49 for vintage 280Z Turbo rims for more burnouts and *bLiNg* and $75 for a CD player.
