well i tried getting some more work done today before the rain continued, ended up getting all of the surface rust off of the drivers side frame rail in the engine bay, dropped the front sway bar, took of the tension rod brackets and sand blasted and boxed them in, then the rain came down hard, so i moved back inside to sand blast the front crossmember bracket, to get ready for powder coating.

Damn, looks nice man. If you don't mind me asking what kind of sand blaster are you using. I've been doing some powder coating here my self and am looking to get a sand blasting set up to cut my outsourcing costs.

i actually brought it to my buddies place to use his cabinet, i am waiting for the black gloss powder coat to bake in, it's getting late and i've got class tomorrow so i'll post pics of the finished product tomorrow along with the next update, rain isn't in the forecast so i'll be busy

ok no real updates, just been buying more parts, and such... mainly 5 lug, getting everything ready to sell that i dont need so be on the lookout for that, and ordered the kit for it.

But the weather has gotten better so hopefully today i can start tackling the rest of the engine bay, dropping the rear subframe, and at least getting the bay in primer.

ok, here's the latest update, got the battery tray cut out, and sheet metal welded in place of it, wiped the problem spots in the bay, finally got around to taking pictures of the tension rod brackets, took out a bunch of misc shit, and primed the engine bay. Weather permitting I'll have the bay painted tomorrow, no real break through shit on this build so far, but stay tuned, it'll get better as soon as the small shit is out of the way.



BTW you can feel free to comment, i'd like to hear peoples feedback, although i know its a little early for it.

well it got really cold last night, so when i walked out today i noticed the clear isnt as reflective as it was last night, since it was completely dry when i went inside, so i'll have to either sand and reclear on a warmer day, or buff it with rubbing compound today.

well the rain has finally stopped, until tomorrow, dropped the subframe out of the new chassis, also took all of the interior wiring out, since there was a rat living in the car for awhile and he decided to snack on the harness, among other things. got the rest of the interior pulled out, and finally got driveway rights for both cars, so swap time has begun, i'm once again stuck in class, so i'll have pictures of the progress when i get home

ok so i finally got around to pulling out the dash and harness from the old car, along with goodies from it to be set aside. I also managed to score a free intercooler from a buddy for my truck. it was kinda a slow day because i kept having people come over and bother me, but here's some pictures of the progress, dont mind the new engine bay, it rained for like 4 days straight and i haven't gotten around to cleaning all of the pollen off of it.

Got both of the subframes into the new car, finally got around to throwing on my PSM toe arms, and new bushings into the front and rear... also got most of the important stuff back into the engine bay and painted those parts as well...

well since i bought the car here on the east coast rust is a major issue, lucky for me the only spot on it that was bad is the spare tire holder, so i just went to the junkyard with my trusty coredless sawzaw and cut out one in better condition, i'll be dropping the gas tank and cut the old one out and weld in the new one. The rust on the red one is just surface since it rained like 7 days straight and left us half way under water. And my buddy in the blue shirt was swapping out my modded knuckles for the stock ones since we made them too short and the tie rod was coming up over the LCA and binding up at full lock. I'll either make another set or mod some LCAs with some adjustable plates to use as bump stops for the tie rod.

took the dash and interior harness back out of the car, since it has way too many wiring problems (cuts, shorts, ect) and i found another harness on here for cheap (Thanks CrimsonRockett) so that should be here tomorrow, but I went ahead and painted the interior with POR15 rust preventative paint, i'll get better shots today after class...

trunk floor is welded in and seam sealed, waiting for that to dry, so in the mean time i threw the new vertex knockoff front bumper on, it needs some more shaving and it should fit like a glove.... in the pictures it has nothing bolting it on, i need to swap the hardware over from the oem bumper tomorrow...

drove the car today, it has way too much toe in the rear, need to adjust the parts shop max toe arms then we will see how it feels. Threw the floor mats in just to take a pic since i still have a water leak issue so once that's figured out i'll leave them in there.

yeah i got the rears on today, no pictures since we were all business, but swapped the 300zx ebrake and calipers to the stock uprights, 7lbs isn't worth saving for the price of new coilover bottoms from stance lol $40 a piece. i'll have pics up tomorrow once everything is finished

haha awesome, on a side note i'm a little pissed

somehow i manage to give my buddy one task, and that is to take off the 27mm nut off of the back of my 300zx uprights so i can transfer the ebrake assembly to my stock uprights, and he takes it off and then beats it off of the upright, with the nut still on it. Fucked up 2 threads on the nut, lucky for him it wasn't the stud itself, but now i'm stick 3/4 done with my 5 lug swap and can't finish it until i can find a new nut for it. FML

I managed to cross thread one of the bolts that holds the front struts to the knuckles when I was taking off the nut.

Just to let you know, if you don't weld the metal flush when shaving the markers, antenna, etc, and just fill that little dip in with filler, it will eventually sink and be noticeable.

finished the body work on the quarter panels and primed them. Lowered the car some more and put my roommates wheels on the passanger side, i also picked up some Rota Torques 18x9.5 +20 which are the same size and offset as my roommates torques.

Dzus fastened my front bumper so i can easily remove it, i still need to shave it a little more to get some better fitment. Installed my DCC and finally re mounted my knock off kouki wing, doing the rear bumper today, have to cut that and make it fit.

so i finally finished my battery box and mounted it, cut up my rear bumper and re fiberglassed it so it fits much better now, all i have to do is do a few wipes on it and prime it and make the Dzus fastener mounts for it. I also installed my Corbeau seat. Thanks for the rail and slider DALAZ_68.

installed my another walbro, thanks Damon aka CamryOnBronze, also made a brake master cylinder stopper out of boredom, and got my hids and housings all installed again so i can drive again at night. Just cleaned up my engine bay, i'm about to pull the motor out one more time and throw the forged internals into it and put the turbo back on again.

well when i installed the walbro Damon sold me i noticed my gas tank was really dirty and smelled like turpentine, so when i get out of class i'll be dropping the tank once again for the 3rd time and drain it all out and figure out how to take the rust out of it. My roommate was talking about some product he has used that coats the inside and encapsulates the rust kinda like POR15 but is safe for gas.

thanks man, i don't have any photo updates atm but the motor is coming out and i'm putting my cp pistons and pauter x beams into it. I also found out that the oil pump is going out on this motor so i'll be replacing it with a TOGA Hi-Flow like i had on my last setup. While the motor is out i'll be modifying the stock wheel wells up front since i am hitting them, but i'm not a fan of how tubs look.

i'm not too sure i got them off a fellow zilvia member, they look cool but they are RHD oriented so even adjusted all the way in it's damn near impossible to see the passenger side blind spot. They are power as well.

yeah now i just have to figure out why the coolant section on the intake manifold is leaking and throw the exhaust and driveshaft onto it and bleed out the coolant system and the clutch and i can take it around the block for a spin. On a side note it's actually not too bad not having an iacv i love this manifold.

I'm doing the same thing on my vert, I got the block off plate with the mani and while the car needs a bit of help to warm up sometimes, once its running its fine. Then I put AEM EMS on it and now it doesn't need help to warm up.

Great build, lots of cool ideas, can't wait to see it painted and rolling.

Well since it's down time season, i decided i needed to address a few issues i've had with the car at the past few drift events. I've replaced every line on the power steering with ss braided hose and earls fittings. I've also added an inline power steering cooler to stop the fluid from boiling after long sessions. Sorry for the cell phone pics, i will have proper pictures up once i finish and coat everything.

Me either haha. Got my PSM hydro in last week so i got everything welded up and installed last night. Still mocking up m y radio delete and redoing my wires under the dash to clean it up a bit. I noticed that when i installed my DCC that i had just left everything messy under there so when i took the panel off all i saw was a sea of wires. Now that everything is back in order i can throw on my new R32 BMC, and install the hydro lines and get some brakes again. I also got some new drift spares 18x10 +25 and some EBC Red Stuff pads all the way around for better bite.

How many gallons does it hold? Were you able to retrofit the oem gas level sender for the dash in anyway?

It is a 15 gallon cell, i haven't filled it up yet so i am not too sure how well the fill tube will work. I still need to seal everything up so i will sbag some pictures of the baffles and the old tank. I went with a Vdo fuel level sender that uses close to the factory ohms range (0-90) ours is like (4-89) or something like that. I still need to wire up the pump with 10 gauge wiring and a relay that triggers off of the factory fuel pump wiring then goes to the battery since this pump runs on a 30 amp circuit and runs best at 13.6v which is charging voltage. The only thing that i am worried about is the new inline filter being able to flow enough to no restrict the system.

yeah it comes with the pump and wiring, which is how walbros come as well. If your using the factory filter then you wont need an inline one, i needed one because i'm not running factory hard lines, i'm running -6 lines all the way to the rail.

I ordered it at work (Mike Balf Race Cars), its just standard fuel hose for a cell, then we made the panel for the gas door and welded on a aluminum cap onto the plate that we had in stock. The benefits of working at a fab shop is we have pretty much all the materials/lines and fittings in stock all the time so i can just bring the car to work and do these projects with my buddy i work with.

took the car into class last night to play with the timing and fuel pressure with the new setup, got a good baseline to start from @ 10lbs of boost, once i buy a new boost controller i'll be running it around 16-18lbs. It put down 248hp and 236 ft/lbs with some more room to lean it out a bit, but it's safe for right now and much more streetable.

I took the meisters off and scored a set of eds Kranze Cerebrus II that i am having relipped to 18x10 +20 and 18x11.5 0, after they come in and i get the rear widebody fitted, i'll be sending the car to paint finally after 2 years of broken paint promises. The KA, the SR20, and damn near all of the 4 cylinder nissan engines aren't serious platforms. Either go 4g63 or go home if your looking for a 4cyl, 2jz or go home if you want a 6, or LS1(LS family anyways) if your looking for a V8. Yes I dont doubt you can make an sr or a ka fast, or an RB/VH/VQ but your gonna spend more money doing it, and have a harder time of it than going with engines that the aftermarket supports better, with more tuners out there. Yes I can dial in a base tune on DSM Link, but there are tuners out there 100x more talented than me. Would rather pay them to get it right and make more power than fuck shit up.

i haven't decided if i want to run fronts, or just grab some new metal ones and pull the shit out of them, i ripped them off at the last event at full lock and tore the metal so either way they are getting replaced. I am thinking that i might have to though since i will need to space the front wheels out a bit to gain some more clearance on the inside. Also i've hit a crossroad of whether or not i want to go with the red that i had originally planned on, or go with black. I've become quite fond of my s14 being black and it is really swaying my decision. But regardless once the wheels and overs arrive i will be doing the fitting and finishing of everything on the car and sending it to my buddy for paint. Also working on getting a 326 power Wang for it and selling the kouki. I have always wanted to run one but just never thought they looked right on stock quarters, but now that i have overs coming i can justify buying it.

I'd have to agree with towlie, needs front overs and paint it red. Red is a good looking color on aftermarket aero for the S13

Well guys i got the wheels and over fenders, started working on the car last night and got the overs fully mounted and wheels test fitted, still need to work on the fronts and bring them out a but to clear some stuff, but all in all i am very satisfied with my choice of origin overs, they fit like a dream. i still need to tweak the ride height as well. It needs MOAR LOW

Currently i only have iphone quality photos of the progress, but i will be sure to bring my camera tonight when i go work on the car some more, lost of fiberglass cutting and trimming has been done to the kit for final preparations for paint, it is in my buddies body shop now so once i finish fitting everything and blocking the car down it will be sprayed, to put it like this, it isnt rolling out of the shop without paint on it this time.
