a little rusty, she'll fit right in with the rest of the fleet....except the fact that she has SOLID FLOORS AND FRAMERAILS!!!

rad. but a 270 isn't a slant. slant came in 170 (MINE LAME), 195, and 225. 270's a v8.

this thread actually REMINDED ME that i own that car, and have parts to put on it. i'm gonna go swap some wheels and pull it outside for a wash.

edit: actually it's probably a 273, not a 270. LUCKKYYYYY

um busted...i assure you, i looked at the engine and it is without a doubt a slant six, and the trim down the side says "Dart 270"

I checked it out with my friend who's like 57 and has been into mopars since forever ago, he says its a 270CU six.

either way, shit is dope, even though I wanted a polara.....

the "270" trim is just a trim level. like the base is a 170, because it has a 170ci slant. the "270" doesn't really make sense as a name, but if it's a slant, you probably have a 225. if not it's a 273... kind of like how mine is a "valiant 100". the 100 just means it's a base, with the 170. a "200" would have the 225. there are only three sizes of six cylinder in mopar land

ANYWAY, with a super six package and split headers the 225 can put out like 200 horses, which definitely isn't bad. nice looking car, we should have dueling 43 year old mopar sedan builds :D

this thread gives me hope that i dont own a complete pile of shit. my E30 has more rust on it that i had thought. theres only one really bad spot. the rest are little bubbles here and there. i want to take it to a body shop just to see what it would cost to make it pretty again. i dont have money for that crap right now, but eventually i'd like to make the car real nice. brakes and suspension are priority. i've put 2,000 miles on the little turd this past week, and not even a hiccup. replaced the fuel filter and air filter finally, and i got 25mpg's on the highway. i was so excited. :keke:

keep us updated on this thing. i really dont know jack about old domestics. i do however, know that its cooler to drive around in something obscure than it is a flashy old camaro or mustang. IMO ofcourse. i like the wagons the best.

yes sir. i have 2 of them, actually. :bigok:

between 2 clusters, i have 1 fuel gauge, 1 tach, 2 speedo's/odometers and 2 temp gauges. then on the side i have another tach. one cluster has a bad SI board. if you need parts, i have them. :keke:

but back on topic. like i said before, it would be hella cool to daily one of those old piles of metal. i've said it before, but if i lived somewhere warm, i'd daily a 280SEL on bags. :naughty:

update on the damned dart.

it died the other night in my buddy's driveway, due to an electical issue. at 1 am. I had to push it into a spot. fucking heavy ass cars.

then when i got the new alternator (only part of the issue), one of the bolts that holds the alternator wasnt recessed enough, so i couldnt move it enough to get the bolt on.

so then i thought to myself..."Self, WWCFD?" What Would Chip Foose Do?

and thusly i took the bracket off, and did a little customization involving my favorite tool....my air powered cutting wheel. and thusly it fit.

have I driven it again yet? um no. still working on that.

im still trying to settle my plans for the car. I cant pick a color or color scheme.
