 Hey, im new to the site and i would like to start off saying hey to all my fellow nissan lovers out there.
I have loved the s14 and s15 silvia since the first time my friend told me about them when i was a young kid. This year i am interested in buying a '97 240sx.
Heres my question, what kid of major modifications would i need to transform my '97 U.S 240sx to look like an S15 silvia and would i have to do any major reconstruction of the 240 body. Any one who could help me out would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for you help.

Welcome to the forum, try to ignore the flamers. But a search would help....and can give you more info (if done right).
You will change the fenders, hood, bumper, and headlights. The major mod might involve the bumper and core support...but don't quote me on that one.

1. if your gonna do a s15 conversion DO NOT buy a 97-98 240sx.
2. buy a 95-96
3. google.com
how come i say not to buy a 97-98 240sx? becuz ur wasting it, and it is RARE. ~6600 made. if u cant appriciate the 97-98 headlights dont buy it.

ok, now i know i shouldnt use a '97. and yea its true, the '97 lights are nice all by themselves...im in a very undecisive position. if any of you out there had the money(which isnt THAT much) to buy a "new" style 240sx (preferably '95 and up) what would you guys do? keep it as a 240 and hook it up big time(and if so, what should i do) or convert it to something else (and if so, what should i do)
any helpful comments would be good
p.s yea...im 18 for who ever that is an issue to.

Oh my god you have alot to learn. Learn more about the car before you try to do anything to it. Also which ever car you end up with you don't NEED to do any type of gay conversion.

my my, nitekids flaming someone else... am i the only one that finds this... kinda... ironical ;)
XxNitroFreakxX: don't worry about the flames, welcome onboard. I remember this is exactly how i started (only on FA) back in 2001. First post, all excited, first reply... use the search function dumb newbie (not a dirrect quote).
don't let the flamers and newbie haters get you down, but, some research wouldn't hurt.
yes, you need front bumper, fenders, hood, lights, and small modifications depending on what type of conversion you get (OEM or fiberglass copy).
if you want my advice tho, buy the car first, drive it stock for a while, learn the car, then mod it. You'll be surprised how your list of to-dos will change when you get the car.
I bought my 95 240 with the intention of eventually doing a strawberry swap (in case you didn't know, s15 in Japanese also means strawberry). But it is the LAST thing on my to-do list, and i have a friggen long to do list.
Oh, another thing, when i first looked into 240s, i hated the way 95 headlights looked, i thought it was fugly. Its grown on me since, and i love the way my car looks more and more each time i see it.
welcome to Zilvia, enjoy your stay

His profile says he was born in '85--so he's probably 18 or almost 18. So, he could say he has loved 240's since he was a young kid ;)
Anyway Nitro--welcome to the board. The guys are right--you can search for S15 AND conversion in the search function (type the S15 AND conversion in the search field) and OMG you will find SOOSOSOSOSO much! Like--where to find a better deal than somewhere else, the parts needed, etc.
BTW, Nitro--Pruto has an excellent information here. He was posting while I was typing mine as well. Once again, welcome to the land of Zilvia :D

AMEN!! I never disliked the '95-'96 look, but I liked the '97-'98 look better when I first started liking 240's. But, my '96 is actually the sexiest S14 ('95-'98 for Nitro, if he didn't know) I have seen in my city. I LLLLOOOOVVVVEEEE red S14's!! :p

heh... it grows on ya and grows on ya.... untill one day your yellowed headlights are parked next to a '97. still... i'm a '95 owner who's happy with his roundish headlights. i mean, there's always headlight eyebrows, right?? :p

well... what i did was keep it a 240. I figure I bought a 240sx, not some other car. didn't hook it up big time though... just did the suspension a bit and turbocharged it.

XxNitroFreakxXa: The front conversion is easy if you have money since there are kits for them.
The rear would be kinda hard. I have a lot of S15 parts for sale. I have pretty much the whole rear (trunklid, tailights, rear bumper) as well as a few other parts.
Hehehe, did not mean to advertise, but I need $$$ :D

The headlight wiring is easier on a 97/98 than a 95/96.

Get a 97/98 LEAVE THE FRONT END and get a NICE body kit.
That front end is rather nice and I get looks because of it. :p
Oh yea....you can also do black housing on the headlights.

Seriously.....don't fuck up the rear. Unless you want to do a Supra taillight conversion and sell your taillights to me. ;)
A nice body kit will cost you some $$$ ($1400+). I say nice because you can get cheapo kits that may have fitment issues and bad quality.

no idea, never been to a dragstrip. if you're talking about power, a guy with a similar setup ran 230rwhp at .4bar.

lol... may?? I don't ever recall someone buying a cheap kit and having it fit perfectly..... so many people ride around with huge uneven gaps between their fenders these days.
