ok so after a fresh swap, my car cranks and i can smell fuel like crazy...but it doesnt seem fuel is getting to the injectors. would i smell fuel if the feed and return were backwards?

Where are you worried about them being backwards? At the fuel rail? I can go pop my hood and tell you which of the hardlines it should be coming from.

Have you tried moving them around? Just to check. The feed for the fuel rail is above the return, and the feed comes out of the fuel filter (duh, lol). Anything more specific then that and I'll have to go look in my engine bay.

Fuel lines look correct to me...

Not sure what it is, but take a look at your spark plugs to see if there is fuel on them; that should at least tell you if fuel is getting through the injectors. You may have already done this, but I would double check timing and test the ignitor. good luck!

Yeah, like everyone else said your fuel lines are correct.

Just have someone turn the key into the "on" position without turning it over while you squeeze the top fuel line coming out of the fuel filter. You'll feel it vibrate/buzz if your fuel pump is working properly and the fuel is moving through the line.

Check the resistance and voltage on your injector plugs....if you want to get nasty with it just pull out each injector one at a time and make sure fuel is squirting out when you turn it over.

Check your grounds and read through all of the trouble shooting section in the FSM...if you don't have the FSM download it (http://www.240edge.com/manuals/s14-sr20det.html).

On the other hand you should be happy to know the area around your fuel pump on your car is WAY less cluttered then mine. That's my next step (after I install my cams) - clean up my wiring harness and engine bay.

Good luck, it is going to be something small and annoying....I hope you get it figured out. If not my buddy who lives in Glouscter (about an hour past Richmond for you) could get it running no problem for cheap. He fixed my car in like 20 mins after I had been ripping my hair out for almost a month.

my friends say they saw smoke coming out of the exhust while cranking. would that mean that im getting combustion? if thats the case, what the hell could be keeping it from firing?

how is that? compared to ka it is super easy and fail proof to reset to stock :smash:

how can those lines look right???

lines dont look right. why did you hook them up there???

its being a while but i have pics of my old sr setup
this is what it should look like. 1 line to return 1 line to go in. you can see in the pic the fpr
return hooks up to the fpr side.

I'm going to be at my buddy's in Gloucester all weekend working on my car/partying if you want I can talk to him and see if you coming by is fine. I can basically guarantee we'll have it fixed in a few hours.
