lsd install

So i got my kaaz 2way from yokotas13, the lsd was bolted up to the ring gear when i got it so im thinking it should just drop into my s14 pumkin.
i get the diff into the pumkin but one side wont sit flush so i removed it and brought it to a shop to have them install it. They counted the teeth on the ring gear that came with the kaaz 2way it was 48 then counted the one on my s14 open diff and it was 49.
they also tried bolting the ring gear from my open diff to the kaaz and its a tight fit.
so now im thinking yokotas13 sent me a diff for a diffrent car.

is the s14 ring gear and s13 ring gear diffrent?

The ring and pinion tooth numbers are stamped on the ring gear. a 48 tooth ring gear is JDM and should be stamped with 48/11 on the ring gear. USDM rings have 49/12 stamped on them. Both ring gears will work they will just have different gear ratios. What you need to know is if the lsd was for a open diff or a vlsd diff.
