JK Motorsports in eastern NC was recommended to me by a fellow Zilvia member (one whose opinions i respect), and I was wondering if anyone else had some info/feedback on them? Their website is a little "eh" but they aren't too far from me (about an hour) and i'm probably going to drive over there and check it out tomorrow. i was thinking about sourcing my SR from those guys (when i finally get the dough, that is :D ) because they are asking $300 less than Heavy Throttle (and I could pick the engine/tranny up with a friends truck instead of paying for shipping)... they a good place to get engines from (no cut harnesses, missing parts, etc)? i'm gonna ask 'em about their warranty when i go there tomorrow.

thanks (in advance)

well, nobody replied, but they knew i was coming :D (mad S13 a.k.a. Gray/Grey read the thread).

anywho, impressions:

nice shop, owner is working on a fastback-to-sileighty conversion and the shop owner's son has a sr fastback (LOTS of stuff on it... bodykit was a bit much much but he's running like 14psi and has electronically-adjustable Teins to back it up  ), decent prices (similar to Heavy Throttle prices minus shipping). forgot to ask about the warranty (d'oh!). basically hung out there all day :D got to ride in the SR hatch w/elec-Teins and an ITR running to over 9k rpm. nice shop, good people. gotta remember to ask about the warranty on redtops next time :D

I guess this would be the place to ask this.... Is there any shops in NC that would be good in dealing with 300ZX's? Does the above shop have a good rep with all imports not just 240sx's?

The shop is in Greenville, about 35 miles east off I-95 at the Hwy 264 Wilson/Raliegh exits. If any of you guys wanna come down let us know and I can try to post some directions for once you get to Greenville. Check out the meets and gatherings section for pics from a 240 meet I helped put on at the shop back in december. Might have to search some but they are there. So far as 300zx's and other imports...yeah we got them covered too..mainly hondas and 240sx's but we get all kinds of people up there buying stuff. jsquared thanks for the comments and stuff..come by anytime..

I back grey up too... I live in greensboro, and I drove 2 1/2 hours back down to them to get my extra KA from them... I will most likely be going back down to get odds and ends when I get money and time for another road trip.

I don't know if you mean for parts or service, so I will take a stab at both... For parts, the above shop is good and not just for nissans. The 2 times I've been there, I've seen the place with plenty of other imports. matter of fact, last time I was in there, I saw them swapping a blown D16 turbo out of a civic and a turbo GSR engine in, making good time doing it, no less... For service on 300ZXs, look no further than the Z shop in greensboro, but that is quite a distance from goldsboro, where I think you say you were moving, is that correct?

Haven't heard anything about a local area meet lately, but there will be a show/drag event at piedmont dragway right between greesnboro and burlington on april 9th... A couple other cats with 240s and myself plan on going and you are more than welcome to join us. The dragstrip is right off of 85 and we can meet up at my house, I live less than 5 miles away from it...

Yep, I'm looking for service. I would be willing to drive if it is a great shop. Thanks for the heads up, thats exactly what I wanted to know.

mad s13, if you could just post your address and we could just use mapquest being that we are all on computers here. I would like to come down and see your shop. I'm in fayetteville, how far away am I from you. I kinda have to come down cause all the shops here suck, just a bunch of non-tuning lights/bodykit/stereo/rice parts selling holes in the wall here.

yeah we actually know a couple people that work at the Z shop (the other jason works there to) good guys and Im sure when you hit town the raliegh chapter of the Z car club will be more than helpful.

and as for JK very good shop. liked everything I've seen from them so far. keeps a good stock of nissan stuff and those tien displays are to frickin addictive.

Yeah, brandon has this fixation with cylindrical shapes, so when you get to the state, he will likely eat the d for you...

^^ yeah i think you're the one who bought it two days before i got there :D

mapquest sucks!! there are some intersections in that part of town that throw mapquest off really badly. i just took 264 east (from 64 from raleigh), make a right (south) on us-11 (memorial rd? by the time you get to this road you're in a small town already) and make a right onto reedy branch rd... it'll be down that road a bit on your left.

and yes, the Tein EDFC display is fun to mess around with :D
