soo i've been smelling gas, usually when i fill up, and accelerate then come to a stop. the smell of gas, like when it spills out from somewhere, and my mileage per tank took a downfall to 130mpg on a full tank and 80mpg on a half
tank....
i have walbro 255, sr20 550cc injectors, z32 maf, z32 fuel filter, this smell started recently. around the time i over filled the tank and it sprayed out the filler opening... any ideas?

Can you determine the general vicinity of the smell origination lol? Under hood or trunk area?

I recently had to replace the hoses coming from my fuel pump due to them cracking and leaking. Kind of a PITA but it was a cheap and simple enough fix.

Have you checked around the fuel lines for any wet/moist areas?

lol your complaning about 130mpg and 80mpg?!?! I would love either of those.
I know you meant miles per tank though.

Anyways I can almost assure you its the oring for your fuel pump access door. I think you made a comment about this before and I said the same thing but it could have been someone else though. Just go to nissan and get a new oring for it.

What happens is when people take out the pump, that oring hits the air and expands and then it never seals well again. Im positive when you take off the in tank pump your going to see that the oring is too large.
