alright well lately i havent had a back-up light until a cop had stop me in the parking lot while i was reversing out the space, he told me i have no back-up light. So i checked the light-bulb and it seems fine, check all the fuses there all fine... i know theres a switch somewhere when you put you car in reverse to activate the light, and im getting ready to go under my car and check the tranny, i know theres speed sensor and what-not under there. but i just want to clarify what im going to be looking for and exactly where so i dont go pulling out the speedsensor or w/e else is down there.. thanks

The backup sensor is on the side of the trans.

The speed sensor has 2 bolts.

I think the gear sensors thread into the side.

IIRC the reverse sensor is the forward most one

I think there are 4 sensors in the tranny.. 3 or them look the same, and then the speed sensor.. The speed sensor is the on almost directly below your shifter plate, and it is the only sensor on the tranny that is insterted in an angle.. And the only sensor that has a scew.. so if it is screwed in, thats NOT the switch you are looking for..

the reverse switch is one of the 3 sensors that look the same, the one you want to look for is the one above the clutch slave(i think)

i'm guessing you have a swap...

reverse light leads wire into the green and black wires on the grey 8-pin male plug at the fusebox make sure you did that wiring

colors don't matter, just make sure one wire goes to the green, the other to the black.

pick and choose from the other remaining 2 that is on the tranny.. haha! i only have my back up lights sensor plugged in, the other 2 are just dead sensors hanging on my tranny.. not sure if it will be the same with sr.. I know the tranny's are the same, just different bellhousing.

Does Russ want to involve himself with this thread?

Just put your car in reverse and check continuity. Turn it On but don't start it and the switch will go active with something like a 9V battery
