Hey, I'm new here, but I'm having a problem with my 240. About a week ago my boyfriend took a motor from a hatch and placed it in a coupe shell. Everything was working fine for about 2 days then the car started acting like it was running out of gas even though it wasn't. The car had been sitting for well over a year so we changed the gas tank and that fixed that problem. Not even the next day the alternator fuse blew. We switched it out and thought it was fine, then the next day it blew again. Today I watched my boyfriend put a third one in and in blew as soon as he was hooking up the battery.
What things could cause this to happen?
He says it's a ground wire or something, but I've read that it could be a few things.Any help is much appreciated.

were the big wire connects to the alternator there should be a plastic piece to keep the connector from grounding out against the housing, this probably fell off. Look for that first, 99 percent of the time its it. If its gone replace it with something to plastic to keep it from grounding

They're both right, however it's weird it didn't blow immediately. Double check that first, then move on to other alternator leads touching metal, something is grounding it out for certain.
