Running Board Dent fixable?

Hopefully all the people that have this kind of dent will chime in. It looks like a slipped jackstand....

I dunno if this is a tech worthy or not, but I'd like to get some opinions. I didn't make this dent, Im just trying to see if its fixable.

Of course I could just throw a sideskirt on and forget about it, but that's half-assed and I'll always know its there.

Can I cut it out of a donor car and weld it in? Does that even make sense to do?
Is it garbage now?
Should I just find a new shell and swap everything over?

whats your car gonna be used for??

If its a drift car, then leave it, and cover it with a side skirt.

If your putting a kit on, then leave it and cover it.

Its a old ass fucking car thats worth less than a new TV in stock form.

If "knowing" thats there will bother you, I suggest not looking around the car much further, or you wont be able to sleep at night.

If you dont know if its fixable, then you dont have the skills to do it probably.
Take it by a body shop and ask them what they think it would cost to pull that out.
Or give it a shot yourself.


Maybe see if you can take the trim piece on the door sill off and push it through from the inside a little, and have someone pull at the same time?

That's from people jacking up the car in a hurry repeatedly. Something tells me that your car was someone's drift bucket. Some bodyshops can pull that out though. Looking at that damage it is probable that there are bigger problems elsewhere though.

1. If you have the skills to do that than sure, but lets be realistic though. You wouldn't be asking if you could so that's out of the question.
-Any reputable body/restoration shop, with a frame puller and tig welder, do stuff like this all the time, so it wouldn't be a problem for them. But once things have buckled they're permanently deformed and have lost their structural strength, so I would never jack a car from that spot again. It will just look aesthetically nice. Unless you plan to reinforce the area than that's a different story. Totally overkill, but hey if you have the $$ then sure why not.

Maybe see if you can take the trim piece on the door sill off and push it through from the inside a little, and have someone pull at the same time?Yeah, the way most body shops would do this is straighten out the bend at the bottom with a frame puller.

Drill a hole through the dented area and yank it out with a dent puller, or pushing out from the holes underneath the trim piece if they have clearance.

From here they can either have ass it and fill over the hole they just drilled with body putty, or do it the right way and weld it.

The rest of the minor imperfections are then filled over with body putty to have a smooth surface.

Then prep and paint.

yeah i have something like that on my car. im just covering it with a side skirt. but mine is not as bad.

how are the pinch welds? i cant see from the pics.... if you messed them they are gonna have to cut them out and reweld them with a pinch style welder. Theres alot of structure in those areas. On frame rack they anchor the whole car on the pinch welds.... If they cant then they will have to get either creative and pull it out and straighten which is hard becuase of the metal in the rocker panel is different from your fenders and quarter panels then cover it up with body filler.

Idk just take it to them and see whats up. Idk how they are gonna be able to anchor the car without the pinch welds..unless they have an old school frame puller.
