A couple seagulls in Torrance deffocated on my bonnet this weekend...unfortunetly dissolving some of the clear coat.
Do they sell spray cans with just plain clear coat in them?
Or would I have to go back and complain to the body shop that did a [email protected]$$ job on the paint?
I would prefer the first option since I do not want to hand over my car for a "few days."

Any help is appreciated!

Krylon makes clear coat...but doing patch work with clear coat WILL look like ass.

Jesus Christ! What are those birds eating!?

I wouldn't go w/ Krylon, you can buy auotomotive clear-coat in a can; check the local auto supply store...

I would definitely recommend option #2. If you got a crappy paintjob (no pun intended), that could very possibly be the cause of the seagull feces having such a horrible effect on your clearcoat. It may mean an inconvenience to you--to give your car to them for a bit, but if you don't act now, they won't stand behind it. How long ago did you get your car painted?

If you're 21 or over, suggest that they provide you with a rental vehicle from Enterprise (the only company that will rent to under 25year-olds), since the clearcoat they applied didn't withstand normal every-day occurances. My car gets crapped on almost every day--and I don't even park under trees, roof overhangs, near fences, or under powerlines--and I've never had an adverse effect on the clearcoat w/ the bird crap.

Unless those seagulls are crapping raw egg-whites, bologna, or paint stripper, the birdcrap shouldn't have had a single effect on your paint--especially in that short of time.

How long did you leave it on your car? Did you not go strait home and wash it off?

From Balognaings of course :). Its actually a fairly common thing to do to cars. Especially if it's someone you hate.

Bird doodie should not have done that to your clearcoat overnight. Take it back to the place that did your paintjob--tomorrow if possible.
