View Full Version : Tax Money Put Into Use

CrashQueen

For those of you have received tax money already or anticipate receiving tax money after filing, I ask you this:

What do you intend to spend your money on?

Unfortunately, I will be using my tax dollars to pay off debts I incurred after my lay off. On the bright side, that is less debt to worry about.

How about you? Where will your money go?

I had every intention on saving the tax return however I used some of it to order a carbon fiber Back Yard Special wing (that I'll get touched up for $100 and then make a $400 profit on) and I bought a cat back exhaust that's like 12 inches long...

I'll be using the rest of the money on tattoos and hookers. Oh and paying some poor bastard to fix the wiring in my car because I don't feel like fucking with it.

I have no debt.

I got laid off from my good job but I went back to my old boss so assuming I don't get fucked again I don't need to do something sensible.

Probably spend it on shoes or something as equally stupid.

So far I've spent near $300 on school books. I need to pay back my brother $200. The rest goes into the shit box.

Fuckin mechanic didn't seal the oil pan properly and I lost all my oil while driving from class. If there is any damage I will have his head.

For those of you have received tax money already or anticipate receiving tax money after filing

I make it a point to never get a tax refund so your question doesn't apply to me, but I will share some of my insights if you want to see them.

What do you intend to spend your money on?

Unfortunately, I will be using my tax dollars to pay off debts I incurred after my lay off. On the bright side, that is less debt to worry about.

How about you? Where will your money go?

First, keep in mind that you may have to pay taxes on your tax refund depending on your situation. That's right. The money you get back on your refund goes towards your taxable income for 2010. So you pay taxes on the refund.

It makes no sense but that's how it works.

So don't think that you can spend all of your refund. I would save some/most of your refund.

Second, I suggest paying a tax financial planner to calculate your withholdings for this year so you don't get a huge refund next April. You want to get as close to breaking even as possible, and err on the side of owing the government just a little bit.

Good luck.

i looked at my calculated return

my debt went from a whopping 5k (lol) to a mere 1200...pretty much paying over the base needed for month helped alot...
