Hi, I stumbled across these coilover springs set on ebay for 40 bucks shipped. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with them. Are they good? Are they worth it? The reason why I am asking is because I just bought a s13 coupe and the owner said that he has a full coilover/shock combo on the car. When I was test driving there were no problems, but when I drove home the car was bouncing like crazy. I talked to several mechs, they said that the shocks are fine, but the springs suck. I was wondering if I can just replace the springs to them with another type of coilover springs. Here are the ebay ones,

ive heard of people saying those are universal and some did not fit.... also who knows what rate the springs are at.. could be the same, could be under rated etc.
Your better off getting some car specific springs, than when money is right, go full coilovers.

Usually when you run those sleeve coilovers your rides always gunna be bouncy. Only reason people get those is so they can slam there cars to the ground super cheap, besides cutting the stock springs. Ask any honda driver who rock ground controls etc. I take that back , most honda drivers think ground control sleeve coilovers are the shit and makes there cars handle if "they were driving on rails".
You can use those springs but it wont help at all. Your car is still going to be bouncy. Most likely when you said the owner has coilover spring/strut combo i already think of those springs. Did you take a look at when you have install on the car now? If he really has a set of full coilovers in the car. Its going to be stiff and bouncy for daily driving. You can try adjusting the coilovers to be softer. If you really want a softer ride then get some eibach or tien springs with koni struts. A picture of what you have on the car right will let us know if you have full coilovers on the car or just a spring/strut combo.

No. don't do it. It will make your ride < than stock. Also, coilovers don't make a ride bouncy, they make it bumpy. Theres a difference. Bouncy is gay, will totally fuck up your handling, and looks ridiculous while being very uncomfortable. Bumpy is just uncomfortable. You'd be better of cutting your springs imo, which is still a terrible Idea. Just get some lowering springs for like 120 new (brand name) or around that price range used.

Ground control sleeve coilovers matched with the correct dampers actually perform very well. I have them on one of my cars.
Check out the thread about it here on Zilvia. Know what you are talking about before you do so.

True but the problem is that for the cost to do the Ground Control sleeve and some Koni Shocks, your better off getting an entry level coilover.

Do most honda drivers you know also have the correct dampers matched with their sleeve coilovers? Most people lower their sleeves all the way down and no strut/damper you get will correct the bouncy-nes.Yes if have the right strut combo with your sleeve coilovers it would be better then stock but i wouldnt never waste my money to buy the right strut to match sleeve coilovers.
