Just wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to get my exhaust to stop hitting the bolt that holds my seat in under my car. It's a s13 with blacktop sr stock mani. s14 t28 circuit sports elbow hks downpipe and APEXi noir exhaust.

I shaved down a good portion of the bolt and its still hitting pretty regularly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Get some stiffer exhaust hanger bushings. Something like this should help. Circuit Sport Exhaust Hanger Bushing Kit (Set of 3) (http://www.frsport.com/Circuit-Sport-Exhaust-Hanger-Bushing-Kit--Set-of-3-_p_2460.html)

Bolt's not the problem, the bushings are... have an exhaust shop replace the bushings and maybe even add a hanger.

Mine does the same thing. Well, its just hits against the bottom. Its so fucking annoying. I'll be checking out those bushings.

Mine also did that pretty bad. I had to get a Dremmel and cut the shit out of that bolt and the little metal bracket thing underneath it. I also had to bang in an area of the body to stop it from rubbing horribly.

hmm alright well the bushing attached to the resonator is brand new and super stiff, and i'm running a new transmission bracket to the cat. i thought this would fix it but it didnt. i might have to get the CS bushings for the other hangers and see if that fixes it.

thanks for the input

I just wrap a ziptie around the rubber hangers and tighten til I cant anymore. No more hitting the diff or anything else., for the affordable price of 4-5 zipties.

First off grind the bolt down, I did that with mine as I had the same problem. Then you either need to put some hose clamps around your stock hangers to tighten them up or get a set of urethane hangers. Easy fix.

cool well i already ground the bolt down but i'll get right on that urethane hanger situation. its still so damn close though, like right up against the mount. it looks as though it needs to be moved farther out. like towards the driveshaft.

I just ran into the same problem with my s13. I pulled the stud from inside the car and then used a smaller bolt to attach the seat inside so it dosn't stickk out in the tunnel. Then i had to pound the braket and the tunnel to get it to somewhat fit. I was still having it hit so i wrapped the section that was hitting in fiberglass exhaust wrap so that it is firm against the tunnel so no more banging. I am going to have another hanger wleded on when i have a chance.

I had that issue with my old exhaust.... ended up getting some longer rubber hangers from the shop... like 3.5" instead of 3". Dropped the whole thing down just enough to get rid of my clearance issues.

Then I got a new exhaust and my hangers are too long now and it hangs too low... lol... gotta go find me some oem hangers now. :bash:
