so i'm a noob when it comes to DIY...

i have a '97 240sx (kouki) with the stock leather seats (cream)...they're ripping and not the most comfortable or track-ideal seats.

i always see ppl talking about rails and this and that - what do i actually need to do to swap the stock seats (or at least the drivers) with a racing seat?

can anybody recommend a decently priced setup? red seat would be preferable, just bcuz it would look good on the black exterior...not really a big deal though...

also have the same question about steering wheels - do you have to change the hub to swap the wheel with an aftermarket one?

assuming i don't have any special tools (other than a typical toolbox), will i be able to swap seats and/or steering wheels myself (while doing a decent job)?

thnx!!!!

prices are up to what you really want man. you can probably go to kragen or pep boys and pick up a no name seat for god knows what or you can buy a Recaro seat that can be pretty expensive. up in the thousand plus prices.
also the seat depends on you for another reason, which is fitment and comfort. there are many different sizes and ways that ones are made. then there are also straight bucket seats and reclinable ones.

go to some local stores and test some out and see if you like the way they feel and then check to make sure you wallet likes the way they feel as well.

Thanks - I kinda knew all that already though. Will probably want something midway, but do I need rails/any other parts? How is installation?

I'd probably want something adjustable/reclinable, as it is my daily driver.

It depends on the seat. Go read some more before you start asking a bunch of questions, we can't answer hypotheticals. When you've chosen a specific seat I'm sure the seller will detail what's required, not like they'll blindly sell you one without extra parts that may be needed to install it.
