hey zilvians

i got a question for tech guys out there, i have a stock ka24de with 131k and a 3 inch catback exhaust. The car was running good, then i took out the silencer to my exhaust to test it out. When i drove it around, the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT comes on and i was like O.o I checked the light out, and it gave me "knock sensor (34)" and "egr malfunction(32)" code and its been on since even with silencer back on. My question is

Oh, the car is running okay, i dont feel any difference in performance, i think.

-Are these codes something i should really consider fixing or getting it checked out? will it affect my car in performance and safety wise?

-What do you guys suggest or what would you do?

Appreciate the help :D

More then likely the loud exhaust is causing the knock sensor to act up. Sometimes loud noises can cause knock sensors to go crazy. Also the EGR code could have something to do with your emissions system. Seeing as your in Cali I would have it checke dout since you guys have smog. I no longer have emissions on my car as in Chicago 95 and older dont get tested so I yanked all my stuff off. Never gave me a code though, but im OBDI, wat about you?

My EGR code came up when I put a test pipe in. The system needs backpressure to function correctly.

Delete it with a code reader if you have one.

my cluster didnt have a bulb for the cel =) hahahaha you can always do that if you dont have a code reader. I did put a bulb back in, and the cel is off =)

restart your ECU. it should delete you code for a few miles... or maybe for awhile.

unplug pos. side, pump your brakes couple times, then plug it back in. that always does the trick for me.
