at least it wasnt drywall, that roof would have been caved in.. Look on the bright side, = they are driving on the LA freeway, as if it wasnt crazy enough lol
If the driver was on the phone, ahh man that would be icing on the cake/added bonus = win!!

lol, who's more of a redneck here? j/k.
i've seen a lot worse here in los angeles.
yesterday on the 5, there was debris on the freeway everywhere that caused traffic.
later saw some guy with 12ft of crap bundled up on an old pickup.
that stuff causes accidents all the time.

This looks Shopped. I can tell from some of the pixels and from seeing quite a few Shops in my time.
shopped...lol
look at how it sits on that spoiler
don't you think it would have broken?

that much plywood literally weighs like ~2000lbs and theres ZERO drop in that suspension at all. Looks pretty shopped. Also it looks like just 1 set of straps holding and its running through the doors and along the roof... x2 for shopped
Matej
03-01-2009, 06:03 PM
Maybe it's fake plywood.
mr.booie
03-01-2009, 06:03 PM
wow you guys. think about it what would i be gaining out of this if i photoshopped it. it would be pointless. i wouldnt havent even started this thread.
^^^ im with Matej
i personnally think it was a fake. (as in the driver set it up). look at what the passeger is holding. a film-quality camera. why would people carrying that much crap be holding a couple thousand dollar camera and filming people.
NISMO_tuner

looks fake to me..
maybe they were playing a prank. cardboard or something
the hatch glass wouldve gotten smashed with that much weight on it

Okay, then prove it...
I saved the photo and ALL the metdata (date/time, camera used, yaddayaddayadda) was stripped from it... I can remove that from anything I take with my cameras or any of my phones with little effort, but I can also restore it.
No wait...
Now that the information has been stripped from the picture, no one (myself included) will believe that it has been added back.
2 straps to hold the polywood together..i know because i used to work at a lumber yard...then just 1 rope to hold it down on the car through the doors
it screams photoshopped all over it

It's fake, you fell for it and posted it on the internet.
Congratulations

That's about 1200lbs of plywood. Do you really think we are to believe that the wing on that car, let alone the roof can support that?
HyperTek
03-01-2009, 06:14 PM
why would he fake it?
its not shopped by the way, look at the windshield, you can see the dashboard cracks in the reflection over the vehicle/plywood. Its from a phone, pics tend to look a lil fuzzy at places. id say 2megapixel pictures look like that.
if anything, he woulda photoshopped those cracks out lol

Probably a stunt for youtube.

ok ok i see yeah u guys are probably right, some fake flywood, like just a empty box or something..
it would be pretty stupid to carry something like that with a mazda mx3.. esp they dont even have any type of red rags or anything hanging on the back as warning signals like your suppose to have... I soo wish a cop pulled their dumb asses over tho, would be epic.

Nopw, still don't believe you...
See, ThatGuy sent me a pic from his phone, which I emailed to him, which he then uploaded to imageshack (http://imageshack.us) and one can still save the image to their computer and see what camera (even phone) it was shot with, date and time.
Not to mention that when one looks at the reflected lines from the dash cracks, they are reflected on the inside of the windshield, and run right across the "plywood" planks.
You fail.

i wish i could agree but you can see some bugs and dirt and other windshield crud where the plywood is, and you can kind of still see the crack reflections over the plywood....
the jetta photoshop is a pretty famous picture, and the Plytanium advertising campaign seems to be going for humor. there's a pretty good chance that this is actually a prop for some georgia pacific commercial.
again, especially after dropping the willy wonka bomb, i wish i could agree

Are you kidding? That article implies absolutely nothing about their actual advertising. All it states is the benefits they are trying to make the consumers aware of. I still believe its photoshopped... Not to mention what company would advertise to encourage unsafe practices?

I was going to mention the big RED BULL energy drinks on the little red bull sponsered mini coopers.
It's the same idea
OMG how come that mini's suspension isn't sagging?!? with all that red bull in there it should be dragging on the ground!!!

makes sense.. they would put an oversized load on a small car to raise a few eyebrows and stares..
I dont think ive ever seen a load of plywood neatly painted on the side stack like that.
Logically if someone really needed that much, they would wait til they had the proper vehicle.
