Hey guys my car is getting tuned later this month sr20det,Gt35R Tial .82 1000cc,Greddy intake manifold,Jwt S4 cams,Aem stand alone. What race gas should i use? I can get Sunoco 110 locally. Is it worth the exrta money going with Q16 or C16?

q16 is newer and alot harder to find if im not mistaken.
110 should be fine unless you want to pay double for c16.
i havent tuned for high boost yet on my car (almost same setup as you) due to maxed out 740cc injectors.

Look to see if you can get Renegade in your area. IIRC Torco race fuels sold out to them. its pretty badass from what i heard from my race fuel source and about 1/2 the price of the VP C16.
But 110 should be good unless you have the cash for the C16. or look for VP import.

Yeah thats what im doing one for pump and one for race. I have a walboro 255 feeding a surge tank and the surge tank is feeding a aeromotive A1000. Im wondering if i switch to e85 what will my PTE 1000cc injector max out at since you need to pump 30% to 40% more fuel.

Just a heads up. 110 is 110LL and LL stands for low lead. Over time your injectors will develop lead deposits as well as pistons, valves and 02 sensor(which can cause them to fail).

Yeah Sonoco GP+ Fuel
It's oxygenated
Also Your post is really un-technical and open ended.
What are you trying to do with the car and what is your reasoning for going with racing fuel?
Racing fuel is detonation and knock protection but is not needed to make more HP most of the time.
It does allow the tuner to add more timing however.
I would suggest a C16 for 30+ PSI on a 2.0 liter
But you may only need 106 or staight 104 octane.

Yeah thats why i want to run either race gas or e85. So i can run a more agressive tune.

It's all about your tuning that depends on the fuel. What are your maps set at and what for?
sunoco 110 octane has the highest energy content, but you may need to find methods of adjusting the timing. I believe that sunoco 110 octane has a higher egt than using the q16, or c16 fuel. If your maps are set for unleaded fuel and you don't mind spending roughly $56.00 for 5 gallons get the sunoco.
My understanding with Q16 although I have never used it is that you will want to enrichen the fuel map a tad in the 5% range. It's oxygenated with a slightly lower energy content, and works better under knock and ping situations. The additional pulse width increase will help improve cylinder pressure, which of coarse makes more HP.
I believe the EGT is slightly lower with the Q16 from standard 110 octane fuel.
I believe 5 gallons of Q16 are going for $66.00 for 5 gallons.
C16 is a good alternative instead of using the sunoco if you are looking to add boost, I don't believe that you have to adjust fuel maps for it. Has close to the same energy content of 110 octane with a lower EGT from what I have been told. I think you can get it for about $60.00 for 5 gallons.

Do e85. Ive tuned on both that and 107 octane, which isnt quite 110, but the e85 kicked the shit out of the gasoline. I wish I would have learned to tune on that fuel instead of pump gas, because e85 has alot more resistance to detonation. In fact, the only time I really encountered knocking is going too rich. Hit me up if you want to know a little more, I can send you my different maps, ect. Plus e85 is cheap, true you need more, but in the end its about the same price as pump gas per miles, and you get race worthy performance.

Yeah i just got a hold of Morgan at synapse turbo. I will be switching from 1000CC to 1200CC for e85. If you can shoot me any graphs that would be great.Mike at awdmotorsports is running e85 on all of his cars. Will see how my vband setup and e85 do.:squintd:
E85 is an animal under boost due to charge cooling. You need BIG injectors though. It takes 25% more fuel than E10 to deliver the same mass. I was easily maxing out my 740's at about 19 psi, but man it felt strong compared to 18 psi on 93.

Yeah I agree with e85 if you can get it locally. Also why not try a few different types of race gas and see what gains you get out of each. Cause im sure you wont be running pure race gas in your car at all times.
