This post is not a forsale thread, but rather I am gauging interest in who all would like one down the road. I love the 200sx s14 Z-edition rear lip, so I decided I would create one for our USDM rear bumper. The price will be in the 100-150 plus shipping range with a black epoxy primer coating so its ready to paint. It will be constructed out of Epoxy resin fiberglass, and in order for me to properly build it I will end up with a female mold, so that means I can create more. If anybody here is interested let me know. This rear lip will be deigned to match the stock s14 kouki sideskirts. As of now, i have the plug mold shaped, but its not quite their yet. I want it to look and fit like it came from Nissan.

Here are some pictures for those who don’t know what im talking about:

If it's identical to the Z Edition with the exception of fitting the US bumper properly, I'm in. I'm very picky about that though so if it's differing in any way, count me out.

Question though, how did you get a mold, are you building from a real Z Edition lip?

From his original post, it sounds like he's "designing" the lip, which leads me to believe he's not taking an original z-edition lip and modifying the mold to fit.

But only the original poster can clarify for sure.

Too bad he's not in california.

I would buy one. And by saying that, I don't mean I would Zilvia-buy one (where I say I will and then won't when it comes time to pay).

Make it please. I need something nice to match the Zenki Navan front bumper and sides. Something like this would be perfect.

OptionZero

it won't match. It doesn't have that raised edge that the zenki sides and navan bumper do

It was designed for kouki sides

I think it'd look fine. Weren't you running this rear lip with navan sides at one point?

Either way, it doesn't matter because the thread starter will never go through with something like this. I'd love to be proven wrong, but it won't happen.

I'm in but will need to see the final product mounted. But as for now I am INTERESTED in getting one.

he is probably using an original one as the plug mold. That way he'll have a consistant mold to work that will fit great. The only way if wont if he doesnt get the air out properly or he applys too many layers too fast. Thus, warping the whole thiing and even sometimes warping the orginal. He will also probably gel coat too to give it protection with shipping and making it a true add on and paint or just add pigment colors to the gel coat resisn to give it a black, white, blue, red, gray color so u dont have to paint just apply a coat of clear.

Id say do it man and sell them. Help yourseld to some extra $ and help ppl on zilvia on savings. Id make em if i had a mold. I'm thinking of making my own custom lip aero, roof lip, rear trunk lip/spolier. If i were you, i'd do the same for funs and experience.

Option Zero, you are correct this is just going to be a “Identical” part, and the plug will be made from scratch. This is not a “ hey im going to build something to make money sort of thing” I really want this rear lip on my car that matches the USDM bumper and kouki sideskirts. Considering only 200 of these things are around it will be very hard and expensive to get an original one.

The plug will take some time for me to match the original one, but I can assure you that the end product will be very identical. Like I said earlier im building this for me, and if anybody else is interested then I will have a female mold to build you one to.

EDIT:Im starting with a skeleton made of wood that is cut to the shapes and contours of the curves, so that way everything is consistent. From their foam will fill the gaps of the wooden skeleton, then I shape the foam to form the plug. The rest doesn’t need an explanation, but I just wanted to let everybody know that I want this to look like it came from Nissan, and how I intend on doing so.

Here is an example to give you a better idea of what I mean by Skeleton

Nope. Turdz car is a similar white s14 kouki with full optional aero - JDM bumper w/ lip, optional sides, jdm rear bumper w/ valences.

Having seen them in person side by side, I can say with confidence it does not match.

People run the optional sides with the greddy lip, and that doesn't match at all. But they still do it. Oh well, wutever.

You can see the optional sides and rear have a creased edge, but the kouki sides and z valence do not

Ah, I thought your car had zenki skirts at some point. My bad. I still think it'd match just fine and look great. Much better than the Navan rear things, which I'm not a big fan of.

This would be better if made out of urethane though. Im sure that would push the price up however.

I'm very interested... I don't care if it really matches the z-edition lip perfectly... really I just want a nice looking rear lip that goes well with kouki sides...

it's been a few months since the project was first proposed... any progress?
